They are the same. We are buying them for our other earphones. They seem to optimize sound for a lot of other earphones and not just the FX850..Considering the FX850 only came with one pair of each tip size. Them boxes of tips are 3 pair of whatever size you use, so far they make my H3 and IM03 sound their absolute best so worth it for me.
 
It was an unexpected discovery to be honest. I like trying out other tips with my phones to see which tips sound the best with the phones..I was very surprised how the sound opens up using the FX850 tips. The extra wide bore on the nozzle seems to help out with sound channeling to your ears.. Don't know how much of that has to do with them spiral dots but the end results kind of speak for themselves.. Standard tips Sony and Audio Technica uses all seem to be the same variants.
 
It is refreshing to see that JVC took the time to actually develop a much better silicone tip vs your standard..I wish all earphone manufacturers would give some thought to how a great tip can actually help the sound they want to achieve vs just throwing in their house made tips.. SONY is the most guilty.. They make large Hybrids and multi driver BA phones yet just throw in their standard hybrid tips that actually constrict the sound.  Throw on something like a UE tips or better these Spiral dot tips and you get a wide open more fluid sound.. Likewise with AT.

It is more like $30 but 2 boxes will be $45.
 
It is roughly $15 for a box but Tenso charges $15 to ship. This is why these are better bought when thrown in with an item.

I dunno... I tried using the spiral dot tip on my DITA vs. the DITA stock large bore tips (which were about 2 mm less in diameter I'd say) and the results weren't as positive. I was mostly curious whether the dimples on the inside had any sort of perceivable benefit to the overall sound, since, these things are hilariously pricey. Well, the spirals added a touch more space to the sound, diffusing the stage in a sense, but at the same time, the sound lost a bit of focus. Details were slightly blurred, and the body of notes was thinned out a touch.

This was most evident in the bass, and on drums, where impact and focus was impaired. I had to concentrate to hear the reverberation of the drum head, and the impact was blunted, and softer, whereas this opposite came naturally with the stock DITA tip. Same applies to the guitar lines, which were a bit less distinct and defined. Overall, the sound seems to be less analytical if anything with the spirals on, and more easy going. I can't speak for other earphones at the moment, just that I feel that if you've got large bore tips in your arsenal, they'll probably do the job just as well if not better.

Well I do believe these spiral dots are great tips but these are not going to be the answer for all phones. It really depends on how the phone was designed more than anything. It was worth it for me to import them as they work really well with my other phones. I have some phones that sound better with a more narrow bore tips for example my Zero Audio Basso and MH1C both require a narrow bore.. Sound will be less focused using wider bored tips. I suspect that is what is happening with them DITAs as well.
 
So the tips are not a 100% necessity but more times than not I use wider bore tips for better sound..

That's a fair assumption. I just wanted to provide some counter balance so a buncha people aren't gonna order these on a lark thinkin things will be taken to the next level. To be fair though, large bore tips seem to be fairly uncommon since the defacto standard seems to be modeled after Sony's hybrid tips.

Has anyone that picked this up with Ten so from Amazon shipped to the USA had to pay customs fees?

Did a thread search but only one post mentioned never getting customs fees with tenso.

Never have and I've used them A LOT.

No worries on Custom fees. Never been charged for any transaction I have done with Tenso.
