I'm testing the "demo" of Mitch's filters right now and I must admit that I like what I hear. In fact, the midrange is now closer and has gained in resolution.
It's a set of 3 convolution filters in zip files; neutral, bass extension, bass + treble extension. choose one and load up via Roon (or other playback software that can add convo filters into the chain). they're very good with the Abyss and worth a try.
Does anyone have links to better posts comparing the 1266 TC and Diana TC?
Just curious how I might feel about it, but I'm assuming the 1266 TC is probably better in most ways.
^^^ You may want to try Diana TC again. Its tonality was tuned to be very similar to AB1266 when each headphone is mated with a proper amplifier. In other words an amp that works best for AB1266 may not be the same amp that works best for Diana TC.
We engineer, machine, and build our headphones from scratch in New York, USA.

Hi all. I bought this thinking I was about to purchase a Susvara to run from my Pass Labs XA25. That changed so now this is getting sold. One week old. PM if interested.
Cheers

The same...they are very convicing at first (and they are really good indeed) but somehow the sound is more alive without them. But I generally don't like oversampling and any kind of digital EQ comes autmatically with oversampling. In my experience careful positioning of the headphone, the superconductor and a powerful tube amp elevates it to perfection without any EQ.
The time has come (again) for me to part ways with my TCs. Wouldn't be surprised if I end up purchasing another set... But for now, I'd like to use the money towards another hobby.
I just recently acquired a 1266 TC. Unfortunately, mine has weak bass in the right side, so off to Abyss it has gone for inspection / cleaning.
Meanwhile, I went a little overboard at MyCaseBuilder designing custom foam for 1266 based on the Pelican Air 1507. I used two layers of foam--the upper tray holds the headphones (with strap and pads attached), and the lower "basement" has room for cables and accessories. The foam supports printing, so I had too much fun playing with various backgrounds and coming up with a few different themes. Here are a couple examples:

I'm a little bummed that my honeymoon period was cut short, but I'm really looking forward to getting my 1266 back and performing a test fit in one of these cases. I just need to decide which design to make.
Once I'm sure the foam is good, I can share pictures and links to the projects in case anyone else wants to make a similar case.
