@BooUrns has given me the OK to post some Festivus treats!

1. iFi audio is awesome and sent us out their pro stack to show off at the meet. Right now we will likely have the iFi stack, a Glenn amp and the ZMF Pendant for demo with our headphones. In my time with the Retro 50 I am always impressed by the plethora of options to cater to whatever headphones I am listening to at the time. Retro 50 is awesome with speakers as well. I'm pumped to show off the pro stack as I've heard great things, I will post more about it as I get some time with the stack.


2. @BooUrns took some time to make an official meet sticker. They just came in and look nice! We hope to make a new design each year!

Well, I'll be there Friday morning on the 7th. When I am there, PM me if interested in something for Friday or Saturday. I plan to check out Chinatown, Rush St (maybe), Art Institute, Willis Tower, several breweries near the venue (Finch, Goose Island, Cobra Lounge, Great Central), a smokehouse or two (I'm a ribs specialist), get some pizza of course... all dependent upon available time and my jet lag affliction.

I am local so if anyone is getting together I might be able to join. In terms of restaurants there are to many good spots. If you are into bbq green st smoked meats is great. Publican is good as is their butcher shop publican quality meats. If you want a really outstanding cocktail the Aviary is incredible but it can be tough to get in there. Gus's has some great fried chicken and these are all in Fulton market. KCmsterpce are you coming in from Seoul?

For those of us coming in from out of town any pre or post meet activities planned?

I for one would love to go out for a beer and some food after! Would anyone be into going out afterwards? I will try to call some tap rooms/bars/restaurants in the area to see if I can secure a space for a group of folks. There is a Blackhawks game at 5pm and The United Center is close to where we will be, so this may cause area restaurants to be a bit congested which is why I am thinking a reservation somewhere might be indicated. If you think you would want to come out afterwards- please hit this thread hard with your righteous enthusiasm.


Also- we have to totally clear out of the Festivus space when we pack up-- so there won't be the opportunity to store gear anywhere if you decide to come out. Just as an FYI- you may want to factor this into your planning.

Hi. I'm Nick and new to the audiophile scene. This will be my first auidoiphest type event. I'm not sure what to bring.

I have pairs of Sennheiser HD660S and the massdrop 6xx. Also have Hifiman 400i, Shure SE530pth, Aiwa Arc-1, and a Focl elear
As to amps, I have a mobile BluWave Get, a Fulla Schiit, and I just recently got a Simaudio Moon Neo 230HAD
I also have an Asteel&Kearns AK120 MKI and a brand new Fiio X5

You bring what you like. It's simple. Most of these things people are careful and respectful - they show up clean and ready to NOT offend. It's a great community. I've seen some folks come in with nothing (and that's fine!), others with portable gear only, and some even drag a wagon behind them with full home setups (huge DACs like the yaggy, power conditioners, computers, converters, etc).

I'm still undecided as to what I'm bringing - but some things I'm willing to bring in are:

Please bring the R6 have a R3 and would definitely like to hear it. Does your 64 U10 have 2 pin cables? I would like to try some balanced with my LCDi4. I picked up the wagon thing from another at a Chicago meet and do have a Yggdrasil the wagon is so handy.

@buke9 Yeah, the u10 and oriolus mk2 have 2 pin connections and 2.5mm balanced plug - the U10 is flush 2 pin and the mk2 is recessed. Both are .78mm standard width. So are you wanting to try one of my balanced cables with your i4?
