Will Rockbox output a digital signal via SPDIF? If so, how does the SQ compare with the stock firmware (if there is any difference)?

  While SU 1.3.3 doesn`t support gapless in FLAC-mode (from hidden bootup menu) - it is very stable, I`ve been using it since it came out and no problems with it.
Gapless in All-mode should work same "good" as with original firmware. Soundwise I also think SU 1.3.3 is best firmware and especially great improvement together with capacitor upgrade (which is highly recommended by me).

Well, finally my new DX50 arrived.. listening to stock fw (1.60) sound doesn't make me impressed, sounds less detail than my past dap Hidizs AP100.
 
But when i using SU 1.3.3 now the sound improve, but i want the instrument more detail and clear, also more darker background, will capacitor upgrade will do this?
 
Oh ya, and what setting do you prefer with FLAC only mode? Setting 1 or Setting 2?

From hidden bootup menu: FLAC-only / IIR off / CPU default  ...large airy soundstage, lot of details, great separation and depth/width.
It`s interesting that You find Hidiz AP100 having more detail. As much as I have read impressions/reviews, it should be littlebit more darker/warmer sounding than DX50 but maybe it is because of that 1.6 FW. 
And yes, capacitor upgrade helps a lot imho and like I told, even better together with SU 1.3.3.

Yeah maybe my AP100 has burned in proper time so its getting more detail, too bad i cant stand with the bug. And remember this is a very first time i hear DX50 with 1.6 fw after unboxing.

But thankfully i found DX50 with right fw now, planning for mod but i dont know, still enjoy atm

1.3.3 is very stable! I find it to be even more stable than some of the most recent stock firmware versions.

I received my Momentum 2 few days ago and I tried many different FW (su 1.3 being my favorite) but I totally lost the "wow effect" I felt when I received my dx50 paired with my Amperior...
 
I tried out of curiosity to plug my M2 to my iTouch (spotify, so convenient) with 320 songs instead of FLAC with my DX50 and honestly, I almost can't tell the difference between the two...
 
So the wow effect might just have been placebo, but today, I picked up my iTouch instead of my DX50 that was supposed to replace it....

Well yes I did with the gain but I can't see how the EQ could improve sound quality...?

Do you notice that the song cutting off first or last few seconds of a music track? Its like the beginning is getting cut off.. Is there any solutions? Tried with gapless 'on' or 'off' but didn't help..

I never had that much cut off. About .5 second would happen but I don't notice anything now.

7S Cameron I did everything on the instruction, i've read in older post that 5s gapless option is the only solution but since i'm in flac only mode so the gapless function doesnt work, any idea?
