The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

Are You sure problem isn`t in tagging?
It`s normal with DX50, it`s relay switching on/off.
There`s something seriously wrong either with software or battery! I get around 14h playtime with stock battery vol lvl between 188-191 and screen brightness set to 50, backlight off - 30sec.
With replacement battery I get around 14h30min with same settings.
You should try Sound Unlocked firmware

agreed. I easily get over 10 hours on this thing on  full charge and I have the screen at almost the brightest setting, gain always max and the volume at about 200 with Sennheiser HD598...

Oh, forgot to add... I`m using gain @ mid with those settings.

Received my DX50 just now. I'm hitting myself on not choosing EMS when you guys were initially alerting about DHL, I was charged INR 600 (10 USD) extra as Duty! I received many products from EMS even FedEx, never charged anything!
Will try to post some pictures for those who haven't received :)

I am also planning to dx50 in India. Please tell me how you ordered and about the warranty.

Not planning to change firmware so soon, got some stuff going on  Just wanted to know shortly what was changed (soundwise).
KraziEarss... do capacitor upgrade, highly recommended cheap and quite easy upgrade in SQ

I don`t care about technical suff if You meant that. Dmitry knows that I`m only interested about SQ not about RB technical "how it was done" and if it is "right or wrong".
Only thing I don`t like is using EQ.

I am curious about the changes myself. I will be updating to 1.2.0 today regardless because medmitry never disappoints!

so 1.1.0 and 1.2.0 have two differences:
1. rockbox PCM initialization params are same as Mango(it provides more sound details, the difference is subtle, same as iir_bandwidth for example. so I don't wanna discuss this with "direct-DAC" guys. it's annoying :) ).
2. rolloff_speed set to "slow", so the sound become less "tight". (this was hardcoded in 1.2.0 firmware, 1.1.0 was "fast" but see below)

anyway you could download this rockbox update(1.2.1) - https://mega.co.nz/#!LcE0gQQT!ACiWGUwu9aDbgR83JEUcU4Hrj1H5o8Cu5ciUvtKnR8E
and you be able to choose the rolloff speed "Settings -> Sound Settings -> Roll-off speed -> Slow/Fast"

This update can applied for any RSU version.

This rockbox build includes changes provided by ArgelErx(code reorganization, most of patches for DX50), Cholero (modern ui).

That`s good.

Great, I`ve always used slow roll-off.

Just to be clear - RSU 1.0.0 is based on official 1.6 firmware? RSU 1.1.0 & 1.2.0 are based on official 1.2.0 ? If so, then going to try RSU 1.0.0 and 1.2.0 sometime soon.
I`m guessing RSU 1.2.0 will be better because I liked SUEX 1.2.0 sound. Still, despite RSU using pre-installed theme, I`m not sure if I`m going to like UI more than Mango but we`ll see
