Ok, I'm beginning to get over the different modded flashed firmwares, but is the rockbox that much better than docs and sound unlocked? I know there's a full thread, but I rockboxed my clip+ only to improve the battery life. I have no interest in EQ'ing...would the sound improve without any messing with the EQ still?

The Rockbox I am using has the same as 1.2.2 Sound Unlocked beta. So give that one a try and see if you like it. I don't like stock Rockbox a whole lot, but with Sound Unlocked it is awesome!
@KraziEarss ,just put on Sound Unlocked without rockbox and enjoy, unless You have special needs from RB that Mango UI can`t provide.
I tested battery some time ago and posted info in this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/679473/the-ibasso-dx50-thread-latest-firmware-1-6-0/14730#post_10812688
Hmm, have an Ibasso DX50. Updated the firmware to 1.60 about a month back. I now notice that tracks that are on it can 'skip' a bit in certain sections. Oddly, the flac originals on the desktop don't do this and the flacs have been copied over to the Ibasso. They also don't skip always at the same spot for the same track (well, outside of just trying over and over on the same track in which case it will).
So, best advice is to....downgrade to 1.50? I love the player, I just wish these issues hadn't cropped up.
I had this exact issue. (For full disclosure, I was on 1.28 and then upgraded to 1.6.Then went to custom FW.)
After I started getting the skip on 1.6, I installed the custom FW called Doc's Favorite Firmware Final. I figure I put about 40 hours on that FW, and I have only experienced one skip. And that may be the file itself, or the FW/HW combination. Not sure.
I suggest installing Doc's FFF. You can find it on Coil's post copied below.

If you haven't updated firmware yet, there is a FAQ on the very first page of this thread. Just follow the "updating FW" instructions and you will be golden. (Unzip the .img file first!)
Don`t know about DOC but Dmitry stopped (he has new toy - hidiz AP100). Imho, there isn`t much need for another versions (for me at least).
SU 1.3.3, SU 1.4 and SUEX (1.2.2) are great and should cover most tastes with different settings. So far SU 1.3.3 is working flawless and with upgraded capacitors and I`m really enjoying my DX50 ;P

Yeah, that would be nice "end" from Dmitry for those who like RB user interface. Was also hoping he finishes this before ditching further development but those guys in RB thread...
It's too bad Dmitry's done with the DX50, but I hope he does some work on the Hidizs AP100. I just purchased one, and I'm planning to get rid of my DX50.

Waiting for it to be delivered. Ordered from MP4Nation when they had it on sale. It was tough to pass up the deal, esp since I can get rid of my DX50 for more or less same price.
Since dx50's is based from android OS. Wouldn't it be nice if in the next firmware upgrade, they will add headset remote support. Perfect match for Sennheiser momentum in ear
So I've been using my DX50 with a Magni 2 Uber and Alpha Dogs. I noticed that it's slighty boomy and slightly sibilant sounding than the M2U + NFB 15.32(DAC out). Can someone tell me if this is common for the DX50's DAC?
