  SU 1.4.0 update

- based on original 1.6.0 FW
- was deleted/disabled a bunch of android services(as Lurker's DX90 FW and a little bit more)

Sound signature is very neutral if you are using "FLAC/Irr Off/default" mode. Highs are soft.
This version would be suitable for old/classic music records.
Don't forget try different modes(use "Lock on" button while rebooting player).

Wow. Will try this soon for sure. I hope You have done same tweaks asi with 1.3.3 but then again stock fw sound signature is different this time.
Need to do proper comparing with SU 1.3.3. Thanks!

I am experiencing a similar problem, occasional skips, and pops(firmware 1.60 and previous firmwares).

I read online a suggestion to use a faster card, at least Class 10. One thing that I have tried, with some success, (I already have a SanDisk Ultra 64GB Class 10 SDXC card) is to check the same file in Foobar2000, to see if it skips in the same place, and if not, to replace the file in my DX50. So far this has worked to eliminate skips. In my case it seems that transferring files from my PC to the DX50 is problematic. I need to look further into this.

I use Sandisk cards and always use a memory card reader to transfer music to the card, not through the DX50. No pops with my music. Any problems with tracks or albums, I've just reconverted the FLAC -> FLAC and that stopped the problem.

Don`t get Your hopes high because Dmitry told me it has different sound signature and already stock 1.5.0 and 1.6.0 are different.
But I do hope it sounds great. Will give feedback as soon as I can test it.

1.4.0 sounds better to me than 1.33 which I thought sounded weird ,like albums were remixed, amazing
clear vocals upfront but rest of the band is in the distance. 1.4.0 retains the great vocals but adds the
rest of the band too.

Well just installed 1.6.0 firmware and have to say I'm very impressed. I thought 1.5.0 was a vast improvement but the newest firmware gives such a wide soundstage and improved bass imo, vocals sound much nicer too

Seems like personal preference thing - more intimate soundstage. Maybe You should spend more time with 1.3.3 and let Your brain adjust? Not trying to say that 1.3.3 is superior - each to his own. For me 1.3.3 is with very spacious soundstage (depth towards front of soundstage is worth mantioning) and layering/separation and I love it! ;P

Unfortunately can`t test 1.4 tonight because I forgot my DX50 at work -.-

After installing the 1.6.0 Firmware on the DX50, I was able to use the USB DAC now.
Anyway, You need both the Ibasso Mango Hifi Device AND the Mango Interface.
What I did for my Win 8.1 Pro, x64 system is to simply install the program using the Setup given and if any of the drivers still do not appear, then try to go directly to the x32 or x64 files and manually use the setup within the folder again.
then the normal steps of going to settings and DAC and connecting it.
 Cheers

I LOVE the 1.6.0 FW sound..AWESOME!

I agree the depth of the soundstage on 1.33 is amazing, but that's what I don't like , the vocals are too "in yer face" and the band is too distant.

For some reason I have noticed this on REM Monster (HD Tracks 24/96)more than any other album. The clarity of Stipes vocals and lyrics freaks me out, but Peter,Bill and Mike sound like they are playing next door.

Of course its all very personal and everyone has different brains and equip. ( Btw I use DX50 with O2 or Voyager amps and DT1350 or T70p) I have had 1.33 since it came out.

If some things seem too distant, then try 1.3.3 @ FLAC mode + irr ON + CPU 312 ...should fit better for Your taste I believe.
I haven`t yet felt "in yer face" focals with 1.3.3 @ FLAC mode + irr OFF + CPU default ...contrary, it is more "out of my head" than most FW`s I have tried. Maybe it is related with HP match.

I am able to get the DX50 USB DAC driver installed on both Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.  The "Mango USB Interface" driver shows up as working in Device Manager.  But I can't see it in "Playback Devices"...any hints as to what I might be doing wrong?

I had the same problem. From my windows Download folder I dragged a copy of the unzipped DAC driver folder to my Windows desktop. i then opened the Windows DAC folder, then selected and opened the 64 bit folder, and then ran the setup.exe. Both mango files appeared in my Device Manager, and are now available in Playback Devices.

Next I played some music in Foobar2000, selected Output in Foobar Preferences, found the DX50 USB DAC dropdown and selected it, inserted my IEM into the DX50 headphone out, and finally was utilizing the DAC.

Perhaps this will work for you.

On my laptop i did have a similar issue where it looked installed but didnt show up in playback devices. I ended up uninstalling the driver via device manager and then reinstalled it by running setup and its all working fine now.

I'm made my decision. After careful selecting, I decided to go for the DX50. The X1 is said to be as good as the Fuze (Already have it). Also, my J3 is no match for the DX50 (except for battery life). So I'm planning to get the DX50 next month. Is there anything I need to know before getting it?
