I did a side by side comparison yesterday with my player on the Doc2008 1.2.2 mod and my buddies on 1.2.8 straight from the HO out, all things the same (eq flat, medium gain, 200 volume, copied songs from my player to his...everything identical). They are very similar. I think the highs might be slightly brighter on Docs mod and the Lows have a little more thump on 1.2.8. Other than that, I thought they were very similar.

I know I could NOT identify one FW over the other in a blind test, so take that for what you will.

iBasso DX50 supports now only dsf fiiles not dff (like from 2L).
Pls. convert them to dsf, f.e. with AudioGate or search for dsf examples.

im sticking with flacs, on 16,24/44,96,192khz, i guess for me on the go is more than enough =)

Has any on tried the DX50 with the AMI MUSIK DS5 USB DSD DAC?
I'm thanking of purchasing it would love any input from some one who has the DAC or tried it.

2, Its clear that many of are hearing different things...which is kind of obvious when you consider how much headphones differ in sound from one to another. Of course we each feel we are 'inherently' right in our views because we hear what we hear (or don't in some cases)
 
3, For this reason could I Please, please request for a modded 1.2.8 from an addition number of FW's.
In this way everyone should be happy and be able to fit the type of sound to their own headphones/hearing that they are most happy with
For myself with my own set up, audio heaven was reached with the sound from 1.2.3beta. perhaps if we had this and modds for 1.2.5 / 1.2.6 everyone could be happy?
 
I don't know how much work this would take but it would be a huge kindness which I think would make a lot of people happy

Cant read chinese and japanese words with that font,.

your Mirror server has the second mod (1.2.2 sound on 1.2.8 fw, new font (eng, rus))
you collected them into one graph - it's wrong.

(1.2.8 sound with a little more lows, better mids (might sound like 1.2.6 for someone), 1.2.8 fw, new font (eng, rus))
 
Enjoying the third mod atm. Lows are slightly better for me comparing with stock 1.2.8, for sure.
