4pin XLR but... why?  IEM are really really easy to drive so single ended would be more than fine.

Still in the estimated 2 week window for matching so guessing no change other than he's really tired of matching parts :p

You double the noise floor driving IEMs balanced, for that reason alone i would recommend the 1/4" jack

No just IEMs because they are made of unicorn dust... no wait   Key is noise floor not THD%.

Sorry if I'm a little dense on this matter, but it seems to me that doubling the noise floor is a bad thing. Do the other advantages of balanced operation outweigh the effects of doubling the noise floor? Thanks for the clarification.

Depends on whether there is a floor to raise to begin with.  The Dynalo, the circuit HeadAmp home amps is based on, are super clean.  So doubling nothing is still nothing.  Balancing a noisy amp... bad.

the noise floor is so low, you'd never know the difference with anything except maybe certain IEMs you might get into a very, very minor hiss.  Also, the gain is doubled, and IEMs already have issues with amps having too much gain.  So the 1x low gain setting becomes a 2x gain, requiring the volume control to be set lower.  there really aren't any advantages to driving IEMs balanced.

hope i didn't start anything.....i asked only because i read gsx(previous version) sound better with the xlr output(comparing to the 1/4 output).  regular iem cable mostly are too short so if i ever going to use an iem with gsx i might need to get a new iem cable.  i thought about maybe ordering one longer cable.  i guess it's not necessary, i have an extension cord and i don't really use iem a lot at home.

Dynalo low is very clean, but as Justin indicated, you can hear noise with some sensitive  IEMs. I can hear slight noise from both a Gilmore Lite and the GS-1 using Westone ES5. I am expecting that this slight noise will go away with the GS-X balanced, thought I wouldn't bother with the GS-X if it was just to remove that little bit of noise.

The gilmore lite has a gain of 6x, so there would be a slightly audible hiss with the es5. You cant hear anything on the low gain setting of the gs-x which is a 1x gain
