The best one I know of is currently under development: ZMF Turbulent. Before this, I saw no point in closed models for home use.

I have both. The 770 are brighter with better midrange and wider soundstage and presence. The C1P sound great on their own, though, and are more of a bass hunter's wet dream with their low end response (with ports wide open). Most will opt for the next to last port position for general listening, though, as the bass DOES get a bit loose wide open listening to metal. They do shine when listening to electronic music like techno, rap, dubstep, etc., which are what I think they were designed for. Overall, I think the better detail on the 770 wins.

IMO I think the JVC s500's are the greatest headphones ever made just because they are easily affordable to the masses and they do not sound like a 50 can more like 500. They are incredibly durable, comfy and they are portable and easily driven straight from a phone.
