The Great Gig In The Sky (The R.I.P. Thread) NEW RULES IN 1ST POST
RIP Chester Bennington, I had some good memories singing the Hybrid Theory album in it's entirety setting up for a music festival, the entire crowd knew all the lyrics and sang along as we waited for the concert to start.

Rest in Peace Mr. Jerry Lewis...The Three Stooges, Abbott & Costello, and Lewis & Martin provided the laughter of my early childhood...I haven't watched a Jerry Lewis movie in decades but it make me sad just knowing that he is no longer in the world....
RIP Walter Becker, co-founder of the great band Steely Dan.

I saw the Heartbreakers in concert six times. Also saw Mudcrutch. Tom Petty was the only artist who could make me feel that communal rocknroll feeling that I remembered from my college days. R.I.P. Tom Petty.

Rest-in-Peace Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip. Honestly, I have never followed The Tragically Hip, but after seeing a news feature about him and the band on CBS, I now realize how extremely loved and popular he was and they are around the world. However these most sincere condolences are offered most particularly for our Canadian neighbors and friends who held Downie and the band in especially high esteem. Obviously, Gord Downie was deeply loved and respected, a well earned status indeed.
