The first balanced ultra-portable headphone amp in the world....

Raelam,
It's fine by me if mot want to make super expensive versions of items that could be a lot cheaper. I know there is a market for that and it's none of my business what others do with their money. My issue is that the only thing being offered is at that level.

Why not offer a basic model for the majority of people who think that, within reason, wire is wire and offer the luxury item for those who think otherwise?

We are talking here, let's not foget, one $2.50 connector and two $2 connecters, attatched with wire.

In light of that obvious truth, I don't see why suggesting a 30-50 price point, which is still in the realms of huge profit, should be so quickly closed down on...

Anyway, it's obviously completely up to mot to decide what they make and sell. It s just a shame that an exciting idea like Ray has here with this amp is having so many obstacles placed between it and a broader market by making an essential accessory unobtainable.

ray might not have any cheap wire to use as his primary business is amps. Even wires that he used for the low-profile lod is primary used as hookup wires in his amps. he only used it for low-profile lods because someone suggested it.

besides the one $2.50 connector and two $2 connecters, and the wires, you forgot about the opportunity cost of the labor and time spent on making these $30 adapters. he could better spend it making Protectors for us, and truth be told, i rather he spent the time making Protectors for us. And let's not forget the other stuffs that ray is releasing as well as his regular business. The profit margin may be big to you ( roughly $20?) but it won't be enough to ray.

besides asking ray to make a cheap adapter, there are PLENTY of diyers who would be happy to make the adapter for you, probably at cost price + shipping, so you can get a really good adapter at $30, instead of a basic model from ray.

xuan,
Dude, it's cool. Ray can do whatever he wants to I'm only making suggestions.

The specialist audio market is an extremely unusual one. I think global economic collapse would ensue within months if the rest of the world followed its example.

Expecting the consumer to spend their own time and resources on getting around the fact that he has introduced a completely new socket to the market, or buy a high end luxury version of something that could be produced and sold for a quarter of the price is not a business model you would see anywhere but here.

Anyway, like I said. It's cool. I'll make my own. I think this conversation should end now because this is a thread Ray is paying for. I was just making a suggestion and I've done that now so this can go back to being a pre-order thread.

Now that you have said it, I am glad that we are done with cable & connectors discussion. Please let us give this a rest & let those who come here find out that this thread, NOW, is to post their orders for the Protectors.
Thanks.

Hi Ray

A black Protector with 2 connectors would be fantastic thanks. And if S/N requests are being considered, '#168' or if not, '128' would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

cheers

Just quietly I agree and this is why I asked earlier in the thread if someone would be offering a cheaper option. This is an expensive purchase when you consider the price of the only available cable and the amp together.

I do look forward to seeing someone else offer an alternative in the near future hopefully
