You know, on my regions forum, they are many that like sound signature of iPod Classic more than X3ii as they state that iPod are sound more analog and vocal sound fuller, that made me wonder about X3ii sound quality versus iPod Classic?

You have to listen by your own, all ears are different. Many earbuds can delevred suspicious sound as well. I still have iPod Classic (80G) and iTouch. SQ was fine! All I've found most amaizing and usefull are the UI, Wifi, camera...Sound wise, after 2 weeks only, I much enjoy my X3. Balanced- Neutral -
iPod are limited to 16-32G capacity. With X3 you can get unlimited (128G) + OTG. Remember that having paid my iTouch 32G. 300$CAD. Have just paid same amount for X3...
SQ will depend on phone type used, tips, files compression, format...

Question: Do the battery icon in the top bar shows the right depletion progress? i find it very inaccurate, I can listen to my X3II for 4 hours and it does not show progress. I am planning on working on a better icon, but if it does not work properly I do not know if it is worth it.

I noticed the 5 depletion bars in the battery icon. Is the possible to make these bars, green, as shown on the packaging?

There is no OTG anymore if you upgraded to fw 1.6.

ETA: 200 gig cards work just fine in the X3II, so you are not limited to 128 gig anymore either.

J'ai remarqué les 5 bars, dans l'icone de la batterie. Serait-l possible de rendre ces 5 bars de couleur verte, comme illustré sur la boite ?

French is not my strongest language, but I think I understood. What about 4 green and the last one red?

iPods are not limited to 32 gigs.  You can buy one that has 128 gigs.  Granted, they do not have expandable storage.

What model iPod are you refering to ?

Here in my country it is. 16 & 32G capacity. At the time, in 2013, mine was 32G. 64G - 128G or more maybe available!?!

My last iPod Classic (video) was 80G. you can get more, 180G I think! The point here is... my listening experience now much better with my new X3ii + W4r IEM

I know that, personaly, I,l stay 1.4 to keep OTG. Until FiiO decide otherwise! To get 128G capacity and over, you have to update the fw. i think, not sure!?!
Maybe I'm confused with the X1.

Horrible picture, but looks very good. The colors are red (depleted), yellow (almost depleted) and green.

Ok, now I am happy with my custom FW. I do not see doing any more changes in the near future.

1) Clean up the top bar
2) Bigger Fonts
3) New Battery Icon and charging icon in top bar
4) Re positioning of icons to satisfy my OCD

Download link in my signature. I would appreciate if you "like it" and give me some reputation.

Well, the "compilation" of the FW is done using some scripts for developers (provided by FIIO I believe) that were originally for the X5II and I modified to work with the X3II, they are windows based. The images I used, were created using The GIMP. The rest, is just trial and error, specially for the coordinates of the images in the firmware. Also you need some understanding on how the FW structure works.
