Ya, your right! I've read somewhere that couple users have a bad smell. It's not a reason to banish the silicone case for only a little bunch of unsatisfied users.

When my big guy come, I will switch the case from my X1. and throw away the plastic.. or sendback to FiiO. Until I've sold the junior one!

I suggest that all unsatisfied X3ii users send back there plasic case to FiiO, to demonstrate our frustration. Maybe they finaly send us all plenty of sili or genuineLeather case for our lovely X3ii.

I can't send mine back...it broke and I threw it away :)

I don't know if you guys have seen, but Amazon US has the 200gig SanDisk micro cards for $79.99.  You have to wait a couple extra weeks for delivery, but it the lowest I've seen them.  I picked one up because I originally paid that for my 128 gig card I bought almost two years ago.  You have to click on the link below the description to get it for $79.99 where it says "6 new from $79.99."

Just yesterday, the SanDisk 200GB cards were only $59.95 on Amazon, which is why there's a delay for the delivery now.  Also, Adorama price-matched Amazon's price for the SanDisk cards, as well.  I would suggest to start following SlickDeals, if you don't already.

Damned, I paid a little over $85 for the 128Gb version.

One thing I noticed, is that the X1 seems to be faster on file transfers than the X3K, using the same micro SD.

Why is that???

Everytime I need to transfer 50Gb + I must put the card into an adaptor to get a decent speed of over 15mb/s, out of the X3K I barely get 4mb/s, but I always get at least 10-12mb/s with the X1

I was not familiar with SlickDeals, but I am now.  They still show it on SlickDeals for $59.99, but when I click the link, it's $79.99.  Oh well, I'll just monitor it now.

Thanks

That could be due to the latest fw of the X1.  Seems like I read FiiO increased the file transfer speed, but I thought they did it for all X series players, but I could be wrong.  I'm still using fw 1.4.  Perhaps someone who knows for sure can chime in here and clarify.

I believe in the change log for fw 1.44 beta it mentioned faster transfer speeds but I've switched back to 1.4 after using 1.44 for only a short while but I don't recall the transfer speeds being significantly faster with 1.44.

The following changes and improvements were made to FW1.44beta compared to FW1.4:
1. Added support for ReplayGain;
2. Added library search function: activate by holding Shortcuts button in any category or folder browsing screen; use previous / next buttons to switch between numbers and alphabet).
3. Increased USB storage transfer speeds (≥8MB/s);
4. Added Recently Played playlist (via Play by Category);
5. Added DoP and D2P options to S/PDIF output;
6. Added Line Output level options (fixed or variable level);
7. Optimized UI operation and speed;
8. Amended user interface in Play by Category;
9. Added play mode: play single track and stop
10. Added option to delete a track (outside of Now Playing);
11. Fixed issue with hidden files stored by a Mac OS computer accessing the cards on the X3 2nd gen;
12. Fixed issue with syncing timed lyrics to song position;
13. Fixed issue where some ID3 tag info could not be read correctly;
14. Added option to manually clear media library database file (via System Settings);
15. USB OTG function (which had never been compatible with many USB devices) has been disabled to improve device detection in storage and DAC modes by the computer;
16. Miscellaneous bug fixes.
Note:
In the process of updating to FW1.44beta, only Favorites and internal playlist data will be retained--settings and media library database will be reset. If downgrading from FW1.44beta to older firmware, settings and media library database will also be reset.

I never tried 1.44 beta due to the OTG being disabled so I can't comment.  I'll have to check the fw thread again.

New here and just got my X3II, currently listening to Bob Marley "Legend" FLAC... coming from an Ipod Classic... the X3II is just very special. I am extremely happy with the sound and I am using modest Sure SE215's. Now, here comes my superfluous question: where can I find themes for the device? I specially like the "Analog 2" theme, any suggestions? Many thanks!
