Is there a way to use the X3-II support for inline remote with headphones that don't include it? Is there a standalone cable with remote control buttons which is supported by this player and allows any headphones to be connected?
I placed an order for the new X3 as well and typed in all of the information on my original X3 box. I have not heard anything back yet. I'm not sure if I did it properly or not but my order number is 66654421324444
Please let me know if I need to do anything else. Do I need to attach a picture of the original box?

I've placed my order about 23 hours ago and I just got the price reduction. It takes time, that's all.
While chatting with Fiio on the aliexpress platform, they told me it could take up to a week to change the price of the 200 units as they have to check/change the price one unit at a time.
Hi. I am new here and in Hires at all.
Does anyone tried the x3 2nd with Bose QietComfort 20 IEMs?
Does it make sense at all to use these IEMs with the DAP? I travel a lot and really love the noise cancelation of the Bose IEMs...
Can you recommend an IEM up to 100-150 Euro or Dollar to use with the X3 2nd?
Chridder
Ps. Thanks to all of you in this thread. Your Information helped me to decide for the X3 2nd.
Im about to order this new fiio x3ii from amazon uk. This is my first DAP ever. Im using 2 different headphones, one is the V-moda M100 and other one is the yamaha EPH-100 .
Ive read through some of this huge thread and followed it last weeks to wait for release. Ive noticed you are a real expert brooko so I might just try to ask you a general question.
What do you think of my headphones for this DAP and is there anything else I should need to buy expect for the DAP itself and a microSD card? Is there any specific types of SD cards I should look at or is just a normal 128GB microSD card like this one for example:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter-SDSDQUAN-128G-G4A/dp/B00M562LF4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1428656168&sr=8-3&keywords=micro+sd+128
And if you think of anything else for a beginning experience in the HD audio world please let me know.

I'm not brooko (who is indeed to be respected for his expertise), but would say the new X3 should be fine driving both of those headphones without external amplification. I had a pre-production unit unit as part of the World Tour, and found the X3 quite capable with IEMs and easy-driving cans. DAP + microSD will be more than adequate to start you off.
The X3 1st gen. was my first DAP, and I was very happy with it. The 2nd gen. is even better. You're gonna love it!

Thanks Ty. I'm not an expert - just an enthusiast like the others in the Community. I'm just lucky enough to try a little more gear than most
.
I haven;'t heard either of the two headphones - but quickly looked up their specs, and the X3ii will have no problems driving either one - so need for additional amping. At this stage all you'll need is a micro SD card. That Sandisk one is a good one. I use the same card in my X5.
When you get both the X3ii and the MicroSD - best advice is to format the card using the X3ii's format utility - it seems to avoid a lot of problems later.
If you know roughly how many albums you're going to have on board, we can give you advice on setting up folders etc for quick navigation.
Welcome to the forums and the X3ii - you're going to love it!
