Hi, I'll be purchasing the X1 soon (waiting for local store to restock). I read somewhere there is or was a file limitation, is this still the case? How do I get around it? Will it be fixed?

Not sure about the current FW on the X1 but on the X5 the limit is lifted and on the latest X3 beta FW the limit is lifted so I only imagine the limit will be lifted with an incoming FW update for the X1.

What is the best amp for fiio x1, e11 or topping nx1? Im planning using it with some full size headphone. For now im stikk usinf soundmagic e10, i've tried hd3000 but the sound seems to flat, so my friend suggested me to get an amp 1st then try it again with takstar hd3000.

Ps : is there any headphones that perhaps have sound sig close to soundmagic e10 sound sig???

Thx all for reply

I can't speak to the e11, but I've used the NX1 with the X1 and I think they compliment each other very well. It's definitely a good pairing, and you can pick up the NX1 for so cheap that it's definitely worth a try!

I own both ampli (FiiO E11K and Topping NX1), but i find the FiiO X1 (soundwise) matching better with the FiiO E11K: besides, with the stacking kit you have a pretty clean solution!

Thx for reply, looks great with the stack kit. Btw, are there any significant differences between e11 with e11k? Is it wise if i spend my budget for amp 1st rather than headphones???

I never heard the old FiiO E11, but i read that the E11K is a better soundig amp.

About the other question, i think that should be better to understand which kind of sound you prefere and then try to complete your setup with the better headphone/ampli solution.

If you are interested in IEM, there are a lot of options that can sound great just connected to the FiiO X1!

I used them with Havi B3P1's, using the NX1 with the X1 added dynamics to the Havi's, and I feel like the soundstage got bigger.

Many members ask how Topping NX1 and FiiO X1 sound paired together.

I will give my thoughts I posted in the NX1 thread.

Just a quick question: Can you use your DAC with your Fiio X1

So it is gonna be like that: Fiio X1 -> DAC -> Amp -> Headphones

Thanks:D

Nope. No optical out. I'm assuming that means there isn't a way to get a digital output from the X1 in order to use an external DAC to convert it to an analog signal.

Thanks man I appreciate.

Anyway, the Fiio X1 have an acceptable headphone out with smooth mid and good bass. However, is there any comparison between that line-out of X1, X3 and X5? I am really impressive with the line out of Fiio X5

I've only used the X1, so I can't really comment. Sorry!
