Yes there is a new X3 coming and yes we tried it at CES - looks like an X1 but with a pretty big upgrade on the internal parts from the current X3. Should be available around April. Asked about X7 - looks like a long way away, fwiw. They had a dummy unit, but it could change still.

Isn't it the same externals as an X1? I don't have the X3 to compare, but the X1, in specs, is thinner than the X3.

Similar, but not the same. @JamesFiiO confirmed that it is a bit thicker than the X1.
 

   
 
1, It is renamed as X3 II, in fact, we will change the model no but the X3 keep the same. something like Audi keep A3,A6,A7,A8 .
 
 
2, the new X3 = X1 + USB DAC + bigger power output + Native DSD support + better DAC (CS4398), + Better Amp + coaxial output + 100 US$. btw, the new X3 is a little thicker than X1 and become full metal case.
 
    or   new X3 = Old X3 + Native DSD supports+ better DAC ( CS4398) + New UI and ID.
 
 
The mass production will be done in April and them launch global market.

x3 and x5 already work as external DAC when using usb from a computer.

My X3 can be used as a DAC with my laptops and computers via an USB cable connection, but my X1 does not have that functionality.  James has not mentioned anything about an OTG functionality for the X3 II.  I hope this clarifies your question.

It's about as wide as a credit card, but just a bit longer. With the case, obviously more so. I find it a very comfortable size for my medium/slightly large hands. I think it's a good size for most people.

Miles better than a Clip+ already, just because they have an internal amp and hardware treble + bass controls. Clip+ is an amateur device compared to X1/X3/X5.

Does OTG functionality mean being able to play directly from a USB stick? Does the X5 do this?
