The Miles Davis albums you mentioned, I have 'kind Of Blue' in 1997 pressing and 'Bitches Brew The Complete Sessions' which is awesome. That 'Bitches Brew' release really demands a good system, especially regarding headphones and/or speakers. I rate 'Bitches Brew' quite high, experimental/free/fusion Jazz has musical strengths I have not found that often.

Today is Queens day, maybe I will find some treasure...

Surely Deep Purple are worth a mention here? They started at roughly the same time as Sabbath and seem to have been quite influential in metal.

For sure, Deep Purple. On the prog side, add Procol Harum's first 5 albums. And here's one that few people would classify as prog because of its psychedelic aspects, but the music is really sophisticated: "After Bathing at Baxters" by Jefferson Airplane. Spencer Dryden's drumming is amazing in a jazz kind of way, and the textures of the music are a lot of fun. Overlook the datedness of a fair amount of the vocal content.

Deep Purple's 'In Rock' and 'Machine Head' are already in my possession. Kyuss' 'Blues For The Red Sun' too which is a favourite album of mine. I am surprised the Verve's 'A Storm In Heaven' has not been mentioned.

Today I found Iron Maiden's 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son' in 1988 pressing.

Cool but you really don't have to worry with Iron Maiden though their remasters are good.

Only problems.

Piece Of Mind -Die With Your Boots On small glitch at 0:26 this might not just be the remaster though but all versions.Maybe someone else can say.

Powerslave -Powerslave the little intro is put on the end of Back of the Village.
Instead of the beginning of the Powerslave track.

Virtual XI -Don't Look Into the Eyes of A Stranger -little tiny bit of static on a part of it
and Como Estais Amigos small bit of cracking on a part.
This is on the original version too unfortunately.

Other than that no other problems.

I really like Seventh Son but it was a few listens before I really loved it its a bit different than usual Maiden.

i have the 1988 release and it's there

not counting vinyl it's widely accepted that the castle records remasters are the best for Maiden with the originals a little behind them and the new remasters in the trash can

LOL the Iron Maiden remasters are some of the worst brickwalled craps I have ever heard, this is especially true for their s/t which is practically turned into another album.

I found 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son' in a small stand run by a German near the canals of Amsterdam. I cost me 5 euros, besides I read a good review about it, 'their last great album.'

I think I will start with 'Led Zeppelin' by Led Zeppelin, 'Made In Japan' by Deep Purple and 'Paranoid' by Black Sabbath followed by King Crimson's début album.

If I have enough money left 'Animals' by Pink Floyd follows. I am having some doubts about 'Wish You Were Here' and I have to buy a Jazz collection for female vocals plus the Kagrra début album.
