Same rule recommended by the filter manufacturers, see here on a similar topic. On your end only if you can't do at the source or a source is unknown. But it will be not so effective.

Ok I’m intrigued by the ifi Lan I Silencer. Will pick one up and share my thoughts when time permits! Cheers

Btw ive removed my pair of Buffalo bs-gs2016 switches and only use the Edgerouter EP4 (modded, powered by an upgraded 19v Paul Hynes SR7T rail) and the Etherregen (SR7T 12V modded rail) reclocked via Mutec Ref10.

ER and server are connected via fiber.

Some interesting measurements in this video.

Interesting.

I think it goes to show that the value of measurements depends on what you are measuring and how you are measuring it. Finding no difference doesn’t necessarily mean there is no difference - it can mean you are measuring the wrong things, but you need to have your mind open to the possibility. Certain websites might do well to take note of this. They won’t of course.

The data being carried in an analogue signal is the reason these things can make a difference and something that some people struggle to grasp.

I just installed the ifi iSilencer lan device and initial impressions are quite good! It does not reduce SQ and I think the noise floor is slightly lower. I’ll report back after a week of having it inline with the ER. The plan is to get used to whatever it does do well then I’ll try removing it from the system to note if it is missed at all. This technique has worked well so far. Cheers

They're cool little devices @Exocer , I have a couple. Suggest try them in different places in the chain. If you are tweaking inclined and have copper foil and a ground box to hand it is possible to enhance their performance a little further (wrap + ground). The Ifi product blurb on Amazon used to describe them as shielded but an Amazon comment of someone who disassembled one with pictures showed his unit was not - just a plastic shell around the circuit board. The Amazon blurb image has now been obviously edited to paste over the inaccurate text. Certainly very light in hand vs their metal bodied DC iPurifier and s/pdif iPurifier.

I don't have this new LHY Mickey, just the Teradak 211 but ridiculously I've yet to hook it up. My main system is temporarily dissasembled.
