The offer gives buyer a $150 Newegg gift card 4 days after the invoice. It's not a $150 coupon. You're still paying $350 for the Momentum. It's a nice deal if you're a frequent Newegg shopper.

It is still $150 back to you, much like a rebate. Obviously it is not a coupon, but newegg sells tons of headphones and other audio related equipment as well as a variety of other items.

For those concerned about the warranty on the refurb Momentums adgtron has listed on Amazon, I sent them a message and asked about it and the returns policy. They replied that they DO have a full two-year warranty, and that there is a 20-day returns window. FYI.

For anybody else that bought a saucepan from Rakuten thinking it was a pair of Phiaton MS400, I just got an email from Wayfair (the marketplace seller) telling me they're issuing a full refund, and that I can keep the pan.

Hmmm... potato -- tomato.  I disagree that it's like a rebate, which is (eventually) money in the bank.  It's a gift card to one store.  If I shopped Newegg more, I might have been more inclined to go for it.  Enough people saw value in it, though.  The deal is sold out.

It's certainly an interesting option when compared to the folks who are going for refurbished models sold by Dakmart.  Instant discount on refurbished vs. paying more out of pocket initially (for a brand new product) but to have the money come back to you in other ways, some of which require more leg work for you:

either sell the gift card for 125 on ebay or buy something with a good resale value and sell it

If you bought it, enjoy it!

Never bought quality audio with them. But they do have pretty low prices for other electronics.

Tell them, "I want cans, not pans!"

I understood your suggestion (that was the "legwork" I was referring to).
