The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!

on one hand i would love to try 1z (out of sheer curiosity) , on the other hand i am fully satisfied with 1a and i feel like paying 2x for a 10-15% improvement is not worth it (to me at least)

over 7500 hours of use , still going strong - and the usb dac option is a game changer as i can hear music from both my HD or just YT picks

SONY really nailed it this time , i will probably just change the battery at some point (although i am still fine) and keep going until my 1a dies (or gets stolen/broken)

Music really kept me sane these last 2 years (along with walking and the occasional spliff)

Well done , SONY.
My WM1A has over 11000 hours. It is on a drawer as i upgraded to the DMP-Z1.

My error was to charge my WM1A with a doubtful error uality charger (thqt qlso damaged an ipgone 6s battery) but i atill feel i get 2x to 2.5x p to chqrg (around 16 hours).

The 1A will be my transportable for travel while my Nw-A26 my commute companion. The DMP is a desktop rig with batteries. You can move it around the house but despite that is still big and heavy (2.5kg)

How do you rip your vinyl?

others do it , i just enjoy their rips

we are talking state of the art equipment , a guy whose rips are really good used a 4000$ Lyra Skala for his rips - yeah insane i know

there are people out there whose rips sound better than many 'hi-res' cd versions

My older dap ended up dying (screen dead out of nowhere). Android DAPs are nice but I want something that'll last longer. So, guess this is my last impulse purchase this year. Installed latest mod FW with the bright external tuning, and so far, it does suit my needs really well. Might look into using it as a DAC in the future too, since it does all I need it to.

I would get one of the silicone cases for it.

it actually came with one. I just took it out to use it on the desk and take the picture, it's now secured again :)
I always felt, that a silicon case gives my WM1A a "cheap touch feeling"... you may know what I mean... So I decided to get the original Sony leather case... not cheap but I really love it and it makes the player complete. Lastly, it perfectly protects the player. Same I did for my ZX507...:)

I have heard the clip on part can wear the finish, especially NW-WM1Z.
