I just purchased the wm1z and having already the wm1a which I love I can't hear much of a difference to be honest.

I love both DAPs. My Lotoo Paw Gold, too.
If you find a good deal, definitely go for it. I didn't regret getting the 1z and I will keep both since I love Sony's sound signature.
What I believe is that sound wise, 1Z is not 2.8 better than 1A comparing their retail prices back in 2016.
Of course not but that's not how these things work. We.pay unreasonably more money for a bit of extra performance at the top end of the market.

What is the best leather case option now for the Wm1z? Too bad the dignis case is no longer available as it looked the best (if anyone has one for sale please let me know).
I don't really like the stock leather case due to the plastic clips and the vertical flip is akward. And I'm not a fan of plastic due to the hand feel.

You can take a look in easecase models on eBay/AliExpress. Personally I like the e4 easecase. There are plenty of customisation options in all easecase models (material, closure selection, personal engraving). I don’t have one though as I prefer the TPU cases so I can see and feel the device better.

Yea, that's a nice colour. Would look great with a dark inside lining. I'd be interested in seeing a magnetic snap too, so the cover sits closed instead of half open.
