Eerily quiet…has the hype train derailed?
Why? Why should it?

This is so funny.Eerily quiet…has the hype train derailed?
On one hand many complain if those that already own them keep Posting their impressions and generate hype.
On the other there are complains if they don't continue to do so.
The headphones are not released yet, expecting others to chime in before is just stupid

That is why the headphones are named Composer. Everyone composes a narrative about them prior to appearance …

Conclusion - why should we not report from our hearing tests?
Off topic: Ian Siegal I heard in some of his live concerts - and now one of his albums ......
I chatted with him during the concert break, a cool guy without star airs!

Hmmm... I cannot say that I am too happy with that HifiMan style 1-3 kHz recess. Treble looks like Utopia with a tick more air, but at least bass looks to be better than Utopia. It is like a HifiMan + Utopia 2022 mix.

Thanks for the HE1000 comparison, @Nomax. It looks like a HE1000 with fixed treble and bass - which is good. I still prefer the 1-3 kHz region with more energy, but I am sure many that love the HE1000 series would love the Composer. I am looking forward to receiving my unit.
You will also be amazed how much the moving air mass from the low end/low frequencies will come to your ear
NOMAX
PS.and also how fast and precise/clean
(Who really want bass and a airy performance at the same time, you can't get around the Composer

While the Bass extension is flat, which is great for a dynamic driver, the amount is really low.

Pass for me as well - the upper mid timbre will be an issue without EQ and I suspect the cans can sound clinical and “too sharp” with some music.

Fascinating what people read from a graph...
Clinical or sharp were definitely not words that came to my mind while listening to the Composer. While I'm open to elevated bass, its not that I was missing anything there either... deep reaching bass paired with great resolution down low is very satisfying actually.

Hmm, this has piqued my interest. I tend to prefer that sort of Hifiman dip in the throat region (1-2K) and an emphasis in the presence region (2-4K). Audio Technica Air-series headphones tend to have that sort of "flat until 2K" tuning as well, and those are still my favorite vocal presentation I've heard. Sony does something similar in their Z7/Z1R and I like how vocals are rendered there as well. Nothing looks too crazy elsewhere, and there seems to be a decent amount of air in the upper treble, but we can't really judge that region from a graph anyways. I'll put this one on my to-demo list.
