THE COMPOSER OPEN BACK FLAGSHIP by AUSTRIAN AUDIO

Karl Seglem, New North, Tr.01 Port - abysmal punchy bass. Here Composer clearly shows who is No.1 here (compared to DT1990, K812)!
The saxophone also feels as if the artist is standing in front of me.
This is an "exceptional album" that belongs in every music collection!

I suspect FR is close to harman, from my audition at CanJam (not ideal) they sounded very good and FR sounded neutral. I think we need a few reviews to see if price is justified, if they were less expensive I would insta buy them.
Going somewhere into the lines of most commonly agreeable FR is the safest route for AA for it's first stab into the high valued audiophile market.

Anymore insights into the Composer's pluses, just listened to the album (thanks) on my K872s and the HD820s, obviously two different sonic signatures......
The saxophone also feels as if the artist is standing in front of me.
........sounds really good on both although the Sennheiser has been my go to recently but the K872 (a touch toned down and fuller than the K812) does feel more immediate, or a live feed as I like to say. :sunglasses:

Figured there would be more reviews of these. Are they shipping worldwide yet?

Nomax - does AA have ties to audiology or more of a technical background? I know they do microphones, so they understand intelligibility. I'd assume it's a multi-discipline operation. How close to Sennheier / Beyer / Etc... would you say they are with regards to manufacturing capabilities? Do you believe any one manufacturer has a leg-up in production quality and product performance?

Myself, I'm an Audeze fanboy. The MRI and AI ANC stuff is real neat. If the LCD-i4 could do ANC - that'd be awesome.

P.S.
Prost

As mentioned several times in this thread, it is still a few weeks away from being released to the public. I was told that it will be beginning to mid of November. Just a few people (some reviewers and friends of the developers) have it and that is pretty much it. Expecting anything else doesn't make any sense.

AA is the old AKG.

Who tells you that the current reviews would be paid for?

Also, Composer is still in "Pre Order" in the shops at the moment - so there are no other listening tests yet, they will surely follow!

Everything with calm and just no stress, until Christmas many many will have the composer at home and will be happy with for a very long time 😎
(Some soon explode from sheer impatience🤪... but the wait is worth it👍)

Looks interesting, but there are a couple of things I'm nervous about.

It looks like the pads use the same fake leather as the Hi-X65. Mine turned to dust and made a mess. I replaced the pads with Dekonis for the ATH-M50X. I will be interested to see how easy it is to use aftermarket pads on these with that magnetic connection since AA doesn't seem to like offering different materials.

The headband on the 65s was also uncomfortable because of the 2 sharp lines that dig into your head. Since it is velcro I replaced it with Dekoni nuggets. I noticed this band has a ring around it that sticks out. I'm wondering if that has the same effect of digging into your head.

Comfort is of course something very personal, and I did not have problems with the headband of the X60 (identical construction to X65). Nevertheless I was wondering why they put that structure on the Composers headband… but wearing it I did not feel it even a bit. It’s very soft material.

They promised to offer velour pads next year, with no changes to the tuning. So there will be an option regarding pads.

Hopefully they or Dekoni will offer genuine leather earpads later.
