FWIW, I think the point about similarity is right - when considered against the vast array of stats, planars and other dynamics out there. I would agree the HD800S and Composer both deliver natural presentations in which mids feature prominently, with good energy through the mid 'presence' band and excellent dynamic range. I would agree they are both easily distinguishable from most stats and planars - although there are some (eg, Stax SR-009S, SR-X9000) which share some characteristics.

I agree. Similar not identical. The Composer boosts the lower mids and does not have the exaggerated sound stage.

Another decent synergy. Qudelix T71 with Oratory EQ settings for the Composer. Surprisingly very good resolution specially for treble (which in my experience has been an impossible job for a dongle form factor device).
