Can other owners of the suede pads please show photos to see if this fold is common, or has my pad actually failed quality control in terms of being wrinkle-free?
Please provide feedback so I can possibly file a complaint about the pads in time.

Here you go:

How do you like them?

More comfortable on the skin than the standard pads. Unfortunately, they are very susceptible to dust.

But it's a shame that these pads isn't part of the standard equipment and that you as a customer has to pay additional 299 EURO to get some comfortable pads.

With the standard pads I have been using EQ settings but these settings can not be used with suede pads.

Without EQ (the new suede pads) there are some problems with piano (jazz recordings). I don't have this with my Noire X (no EQ)

Ok that’s really good looking. Very symmetrical and smooth coverage. My second one is also better.
Regarding comfort, I can only agree that they are significantly more pleasant than the original pads. The skin feels very pleasant, but they are also susceptible to the smallest skin particles.
So always wash your hair and face and gently moisturize your skin. 🤣

@Nomax :
Ok. That makes sense. Thanks for your feedback.
I remember some explanation regarding wave reflections inside the pressure chamber to the ear. And thought for that reason it has to be absolutely wrinkle-free.
But maybe I mixed something up.

It would also have been possible to include the Suede Pads as well as spacers....but then not for 2.500 Euros but for the price of the Empyrean 2.990 Euros 😉
(So i think its better that everyone can decide how much he wants to pay for his individual Composer)
That's why i have the Fuzzleroller from tesa 🤪

PS.

@b000merang
I could show you here Ear Cushions from others with real folds/winkles where there are really wave reflections🙈
(And don't forget....apply the aftershave after shaving😁)
Unfortunately I'm not at home yet.... because of the pictures of what mine look like inside
And always remember... an ear cushion is always exposed to certain circumstances and is not designed for a few years of daily use
You have to see it like the tires on a car....they also show signs of wear and tear 😉
(I've also replaced my Utopia pads twice now, so what?I am annoyed about it....no because that's the part of my hobby that I can afford)

Do you mind describing the issue with piano that you hear with the suede pads?

Received my suede pads this week. Soundwise I can join other comments before: More depth in soundstage and a slight modified tonality.
BUT:
With all this talk about price and quality, I wanted to ask you something, since Nomax has repeatedly emphasized how difficult it is to get the cover over the foam without wrinkles. So, do you think this is "wrinkle-free"?

I would be more concerned about the spikes and their surrounding dampening. It seems badly aligned. That might cause a not working sealing between Composer and Pads, which should influence the sound significantly.
For me no doubt to return this!

What's wrong in your opinion? These spikes are there to align the earpads perfectly on the headphones and the material surrounding the spikes is a soft foam ring which ensures the seal. There is no difference here to the original leatherette pads and the seal is fine imo.

Cheers :beerchug:
