The Centrance HiFi M8 thread

I just got just my Apple iPod classic 5.5 and I'm having trouble trying to play it through my HiFi-M8 iDevice version. Is there something I need to do to make it work as a dock instead of just charging the ipod?

5.5 doesn't work with M8

Well, that's $250 Down the drain. On the flipside, it's a pretty well maintained model. No scratches, new battery 1900mAh, 128 gb ssd, with acessoriess included; re-selling this would be a piece of cake. Also, I struck a good deal on a 7th gen. for $145. Thanks for the response.

It doesn't work with an iPod version that old unfortunately. Later iPod versions Apple changed the digital output so it works on later versions of the iPod.

No sorry, the 5 and before models dont work with any dac/amps. CCK wouldnt have made s difference.

As an alternative, no CCK required...

My iPod Touch 4 (version 6.1.6) works fine into the Apple USB on my M8, running the older release of FLACplayer

Also, my old iPhone 4s (version 8.2) works great as a dedicated Tidal streaming device with the M8.

I would contact Centrance for advice.

The ipod Classics don't run IOS.  It's not a 30 pin vs Lightning issue.

I have the m8 with optical in. Would my iPod 160gb 7th gen classic work through the USB on the m8 using the 'iPad camera kit'?

It should do.

I have connected a ipod touch 4g, an iphone 4, a ipod touch 5g and ipod touch 6g so far.

Its been a while since i trialed the 4Gs with the CCK.

And i have t tried a classic 6g or 7g.

  Dear All,

Just a quick update I received regarding the 24/96 update situation:

`We (CEntrance) have been beating our heads up against this wall for over a year now ..........  iPhone is not as friendly as we were hoping it would be.

Please let the head-fi folks know that while Michael is traveling the world, our team of dedicated engineers back home are working hard on finding the solution. If anyone could do that, it would be CEntrance.

That's all I can say at the moment, but more soon.` -David/Centrance.

Regards
expat.

Any NEWS?!!!

Been like 2 years since.
