no its just a samsung note 2, and i dont have the lx version for optical. My main objectives were to

A) be able to use other apps such as netflix, neutron player, youtube, ect with the hifi-m8 &
B) have the ability to charge my phone while connected to the m8.

I am using a diy usb otg cable to the usb-b port and i dont have the ability to do either. I am under the impression that idevices will charge through the usb while the m8 is charging, but my android doesnt.

Are there any options that would allow this to work if my phone were rooted? I'd like to avoid this but would consider if it would make those two options possible.

NP, and FYI that VentureCraft also sells the TOSLink / S/PDIF interconnect for AK100/120 to M8 LX, but it's over double the price compare to Sysconcept.  In fact, Sysconcept has done multiple of these and they already have the measurements.

That's what I did, and I have two interconnects from them for my M8 LX and VentureCraft SounDroid Typhoon for my AK120 already.

For those iPhone users with the m8, I'm currently using with an Android and cannot access any apps audio through the m8 other than the USB audio player pro. Does the iPhone with cck allow audio from other apps such as Netflix, YouTube, accudio, the stock music player, ect?

   With both my iPhone and iPad it works as the standard audio output.  Haven't tried it with Netflix, but considering how the other apps behave, it should work fine.

FWIW, bought the lightning CCK today, and the Onkyo HF App upscales lossy (44.1khz) tracks to 176.4khz via the type B connector on the M8

I'm wondering if upscaling from 44.1kHz to 176.4kHz sampling rate actually improve on the sound quality. It's like taking a low resolution photo and blowing it up to make the photo larger so in the end you get a bigger pixelated photo that's all.

After reading all the good reviews and stuff, I pulled the trigger and purchased the lx with iem mod.plus this would give my ak100 more play time than just sitting in a drawer.i emailed Centrance and they said even with the low gain mod it should still have enough to push an hd800 to adequate listening levels...so I also pulled the trigger on an hd800. And since colorware charged an extra $100 for custom paint job...eh why not? might as well...also ordered the toslink cable from sysconcept...I ordered the 5mm one since this will be a portable device...kinda wierd that it's $10 cheaper than the 2.2mm,when it's exactly the same size wire on the inside but much thicker material on the outside....damn this website!!! My wallet hates this place...good thing tax refund will arrive soon..

I also pulled the trigger on LX,i am also thinking to get either the ak100 or ak120.is the ak100 really have a sluggish UI?
