It seems to me that most people either love this singer or hate her. I really love listening to her albums but I find that for some reason, I don't listen to them that often. Here she is:

Here is one I just found one that I am going to research.  I think she has a great voice.

Thank you so much Mython.  I just listened to the Carol Welsman Live and my oh my what talent she has.  I was just really happy to have found her and thanks to you for letting that happen.  It is guys like you that add so much to this site that keeps me coming back.  Now with all your posts I have a chance to review them and add a bunch of new names to my listening environment.

You're welcome, and I'm glad to help, but the truth is, I've benefited as much as anyone, from this thread, from the many excellent recommendations. It's an absolute goldmine of female vocal talent - I only wish I had a goldmine to pay for all this music!

Take a look at Secondspin.com.  I have probably bought at least a 100 CD's from them and never got a bad one.  Prices on some of their stuff is pretty cheap.

Funny you should mention that, as I bought 8 CDs from an equivalent retail shop just a few hours earlier, today, here in the UK (called 'That's Entertainment'). Secondhand discs but most of them are sufficiently tidy to get a decent EAC .flac rip from.

Yes indeed. I was lucky to see her perform in Vienna, singing Carmen. Incredible range, but delicate, not harsh, and her CD "Meditation" -- sweet late nite music.

Garanca and Netrebko in the Puccini opera on Romeo/Juliet...Capuletti-Montecchi or whatever--that's the one.

cheers,
