If I do get up there, then I'm probably going to get the HD800s. I see a few things I could do to them to make them basshead worthy. Hehe.

Well, if there's one person who can make the HD800 basshead worthy, it's probably you, bro. Just don't stick them Hello Kitty stickers all over it, k?

Nah, lol. I'm going to get them custom painted. If you want to know what it'll look like go to colorware, make the whole headphone matte "jet black" with matte "techno blue" rings. I think it looks pretty sexy. Then again, It's going to be a good while before I do all of this (I have some other stuff I want/need to do first).

Colorware: because for some people, the HD800 aren't expensive enough already.

Colorware and original cost the same. Even if it did cost more, I wouldn't mind. If someone's spending around $1,500 on a headphone a hundred bucks or so is negligible.

+1. Also, why are we talking of the HD800s in the basshead club?

Best basshead over-ear around $300 that is NOT the M100? I'm trying to explore alternatives.

cleary, with things as subjective as headphones there is no KING of all headphones. Rather there is a small group of EPIC cans. Because it all depends on personal taste. I might like it, but you might hate it. And while good is still good, better depends on the individual tastes.

those new dual driver JVC phones?

maybe, but haven't the Skull Candy and other brand cans that tried that failed utterly!

The crushers have a vibrator instead of an actual subwoofer driver. So, it's actually the 40mm (or is it 30mm?) driver that's producing the frequency range, while that excuse for a subwoofer just vibrates the headphone instead of delivering pure SPL bass. The JVC cans are the real deal when it comes to actually having four drivers in the headphone, hence the reason why they cost around $300.
