Hey guys, newbie here to the head-fi community. What do you guys think about the bass on the Audio Technica ATH-SJ55? As a newbie to the world of headphones, I've only tried a few cans like the ATH-M50, AKG K518LE, Sennheiser HD238 and 239, ATH PROMK something, and a few other, I found the bass on the ATH-SJ55s really great for its price ($89). Any suggestions or opinions on these? Any reccomendations for the price?

sony xb800 or xb700 better choice?

btw: today i bought the philips downtowns. Who the hell put them on the list? they should be on the trebleheads fanclub list, as they produce no kind of bass, mids and treble are everything they do!

Hi, i'm looking for a new pair of basshead portable headphones.

The last headphone i bought was the TMA-1, i listen mainly to techno and tech-house. I was interested in the HFI-580 but the 3m non-detachable cord is a no-go. Atm i don't have any amp and i'll drive them with my clip+. Budget is about 140-160gbp and i prefer buying from a european amazon (cause i still go a gift-coupon to use). Any suggestion?

There's quite a few headphones that don't belong on the list.

I only have the Xb800s but from what i heard (literally) the xb800s bass are much more punchier than the 700s and thinking about it now they may even have a punchier bass than the 500s after burn in but i don't know if the xb800s have the deep ocean bass like on the 700s.

I heard Dt 770's sub bass are something to be hold. How'd they compare against say Crossfade LP's?

I've kinda settled on the DT770/80 for full size at the moment. They deliver everything I need, soundstage, mid - treble clarity and detail and most of all DAT SUB BASS in high quality and with some good EQ:ing, quantity aswell. They work well with most genres, especially with EDM and heavy metal, which are my go-to genres.
