People used to say that the M50 are basshead headphones. What are they said to be now? I personally I find them almost cold. The M50 is really an odd headphone on the forum.
Audiophiles tend to prefer the neutrality of the M50 over the colored sound of the Pro700mk2. The bass head audiophile may be more happy with the pro700, while the M50's bass is more than enough for the average audiophile that prefers a neutral sound presence.
There was also a comfort problem reviewers tend to experience. The earpads are quite cheap.
I guess they are about the same now but I just constantly see them mentioned on the forums. I just placed an order for the Ultrasone Pro 900's. Ooooh boy.
Good choice. M50's were boring and clamping force was a deal breaker.
Shure SE215 is a great choice for solid bass with decent extension and nice forward, lush mids, but fit has been a problem for some with smaller ears. Fischer Audio Eterna might be worth a look too, or Hippo VB if you want treble emphasized over mids and lots of subbass.
So I paid about $150 for my Pro700MK2's what would be a good replacement for these? I like them okay but I have a gut feeling that I could've gotten something better in a basshead headphone. Suggestions??? Ultrasone maybe?
