So the htf's came in.... Really impressive for 30 dollar headphones. I think they sound better than the xb500's but the bass quantity is lower. Haven't listened to enough songs to tell bass quality yet but I like them so far.. 2 things..

Burn in... How should I do it and how much will it change the sound?

The long cord... Any tips on how to effectively shorten it? Braid it somehow?

Agree. But I always use really bass heavy music like EDM to burn-in my phones. I got the impression this speeds things up.
 
Time: 50 hours min. Depends of the phones.

Not sure if free but Equalizer, EQ10 and Denon are all good apps that may cost a dollar but worth it.  I prefer either Equalizer or EQ10.

And in the IEM range, the Westone 3, and the WooDuo 2.

EQu is the most poular, I think. And pretty efficient.

Does taking the foam off the drivers do anything?

And what's the best eq setup for bass quantity?

Do pad upgrades change bass level at all?
