Tell me something Audigy 2 doesn't have... THX, yeah!

113 DB SNR DACs, so probably DACS on par with E-MU 0404...

Frequency rolloff of 3dB at 46kHz, a bit worse than E-MU 1212m/1820m (55Khz).

Hey, that could be the ultimate gamer/audiophile card since it's got all the EAX goodies.

The price is astronomical though. You could spend that money on better headphones, speakers, or more importantly video card if you're gaming.

Well, the key is EAX. Nothing does EAX like a genuine creative card, and it eliminates the need for 2 cards, though it's not that much of a hassle. The advanced reverb engine is really important for FPS and third person games, IMO.

I can see what you're saying about EAX. I only do two channel gaming. Unless they have some advanced headphone positioning thing going on.

The big question is does it resample at 44.1khz. If it does............. that is just sad.

The reverb engine applies to 2 channel gaming as well. Basically, it means that if you're outside in the open and some gunshots happen in the warehouse adjacent to you, they will have appropriate reverb applied. This is just more immersive. Without the advanced EAX, the reverb will not be applied.

Yawn, EAX 4.0 still doesn't do raytracing? That's 1998-1999 tech that Aureal had, and Creative bought. "Advanced reverb" = BS. No reverb stuff is anywhere near what a Vortex 2 could do in games.

It was never implemented by anyone and I don't see how the processor could handle it.

I don't see how it could be marketed towards "pros" and still resample. That would be terrible if it did.

What motivation does Creative have to improve their product? All the current "Pro" Audigys resample. It's just marketing. Creative's real pro line is made up of the E-MU cards.

ooheadsoo, are you giving Creative the benefit of the doubt? You'll be labled a Creative fanboy in no time.
