I just want to say thank you to @dstarr3 and @Disadadi for a great advice. I also had a rattle in left pad for more than a year. Removed the hairs from the left pad and good as new! Also, I love how great and easy is the pad mechanism on K712. One more great stuff on a wonderful headphone model.

Mine did the same you need to have a hair rubber tie and some cable tie. There are videos floating around how to put those in place.

Has anyone tried using a mini xlr to 4.4mm cable on the K702?

I have redesigned my AT M70x for a balanced 4.4 connection. This has noticeably improved the clarity of the bass. After that, I decided to redo my K701, but I didn't notice any improvement and returned them a new jack 6.3 (I connected them to iFi HIP DAC 2)

You might want to try the furutech 1/4-inch brass headphone plug on the 701. I replaced it on my 701s and there was a nice improvement over the stock plug. The brass plug is very reasonably priced for the amount of improvement you get.

Hi everyone, I own a k612 and I really liked it with a hifiman ef2a. now i want to buy a k712 and a lyr 2. does anyone have experience with lyr 2 and akg? I tried the k7xx and for my taste it was a bit "dark", do you find the same with the k712?

I am generally not one to promote cables but in this case I noticed an overall improvement that could not be denied. Better base and far better instrument separation.

Now I was wondering about this cable that you recommend. They say in the page you can order it 2,5. Then, is it a balanced cable? I undertood the AKG K712 pro needs some special mod to be used balanced? Is this right or just buying one of those cables would work?

Yes it must be modded to be balanced. That company I posted is well regarded . There have been many positive posts about their cables. I have serveral for different headphpones. They offer a variety of terminations to suit any need. You cannot balance your K712 without modding it. I don't recommend it.
