Hi, christkw
Could you tell us the output of the charger you use? And are you charging it with too many background programs?

I use my LG v10 charger and it work with fw 2.0
No program open. just start the x7 and charge it.

Hi, christkw
Could you please try to do factory restore and change a charger to see whether it helps?

Upgraded to the beta yesterday. When I have the X7 docked onto the K5 the sound from the headphone jack (K5) is massively muffled, distorted and very, very faint volume (using 30 Ohm Philips Fidelio X2 headphones which are relatively sensitive). Is this a known bug? Any ideas Fiio?

Also I have the blue light bar disabled in settings including for when charging. However when docked on the K5 the light is pulsing (minor issue compared with the above)

Thanks.

Hi, recondude
1. Have you turn off the adjustable volume at LO from setting--audio settings--adjustable volume at LO yet? The default staus is on.
2. As for the blue light problem, yes, it is a bug. We will release a new firmware soon and fix that problem.

Thanks for the quick reply. I can report back to you that when docked with the K5 the line out is permanently in adjustable volume mode. The setting can be 'unticked' to turn it off but that doesn't work and remains as adjustable only. Another bug to look at. Thanks for the work you are all putting. Hopefully you can get an update out shortly.

My review and bugs on the FW 3.0.2. All my music is in a 1 TB. Kingston HyperX pendrive connected by USB. I think that my cable is bad and change it for a new. That is a posible reason to all my problems with the first FW 3.0 Beta.

1. First, the system is now stable compared with the first beta. Fiio music only crashes two times scanning library at song 6.500 aprox. Now is usuable and be able to play all songs by folder or by library without any crashes for the time i'm trying it. I send two logs file to Fiio Shadow.

2. The library scanning continues to be slow, more than 20 minutes, compared to the 5 minutes or less in FW 2.0. My pendrive owns about 7.000 songs.

3. Swiftkey turns off to the Android default keyboard when i change to Pure Music or turn on the device in Pure Music.

4. No gapless option.

5. Library continues showing chinese characters instead of international characters like á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ, Ñ. Searching by folder is correct and shows all international characters:

"Habitación con Vistas", "Hace un año"

6. Imposible to see long names and dark gray subtitles, some icons and others texts dificult to read:

7. Changing the default icons orders on Fiio music main screen, return to default order when exits Fiio Music or restart the device. This also occurs in FW 2.0:

8. There are one album in DSD64 that i cant play on Fiio X7 including FW 2.0, but i play it in any other device. I send that album to Fiio Shadow to check it. Also you check the multiple genres tag separated by semicolon.

9. Interesting to see the number of track when searching by albums or artists.

With this firmware as is at now, i continue using it and not return to FW 2.0. We send more bugs or sugestions if i found it.

- OTA doesn't work in both Settings Area and Technical Support App
- Button Mapping Menu change was not done (Still the same 2 Step Button Mapping option)
- FiiO Music App labelling - "Custom Volume" is now tagged correctly
- But I just got my 1st "Google whatever has stopped"  message - never got that on the previous firmware

@FiiO @James @FiiO-Shadow

The most important bug i found is that is imposible to play some folders. Files on this folders all locked and not do anything when i tap on it. Also the info of that files not appear in the media library.

In FW 3.0 the vast mayority of files can't play crashing the FiiO Music app. In FW 3.0.2 the vast mayority of files plays correctly, but the are a important number of files that can't play, but not crashing the Fiio Music app. In some cases, when I tap the file does do nothing, after 5-10 seconds shows a messages that there is no content to play on that file.

In FW 3.0.2 I can access with ES Explorer to that files that FiiO Music can't play, and copy, rename, delete and all functions correctly. Also, other players in FiiO X7 with FW 3.0.2, can access and plays those files that FiiO Music can't.

Interesting to see that the most files that FiiO can't play is normaly, but not always, the new files that added to the 1 TB. Kingston HyperX pendrive. I also think that this problem is related with the incredible slow of scanning files, more than 20 minutes in FW 3.0.x and about 5 minutes in FW 2.0.

In FW 2.0 i can play all songs without any problem.

Now, because of this bug, returning again to FW 2.0 in order to be able to play all my files, all my music library.

Some bugs to be related at Firmware 3.0.2:

. The X7 become very lazy after the update, more than the beta 3.0. To navigate from the Artist, music or genre it has some delay
. Some music "pause" in the middle of my listening and stop playing.
. The search function have some problems and is very lazy too
. The update library appears to be lazy
. Sometimes the music crashes
. The name of the artist and music that stays down the VU Meter appears to have an strange movement. Not a totally circular movement. It "crashes", for example, on the left side and come back and crashes again on the right side, but with an strange movement. It only happens with big names that has this movement.

1) I guess, updated fiio needs new drivers for PC (I have windows 7). Since FW 3 beta 1 and in 2 - the same thing, drivers just stop recognising x7, even though it is in the dac mode.  I had no such a problem with fw2.0. When I enter fiio control panel it tells me "no device connected".
2) Fiio app music (standart player) STILL does not support .dsf or .dff, and of course no .iso support, even though Onkyo player plays well DSD formats and "Hiby Music" played .iso on fw1.8 and 2.0. - now iso are impossible to be played!!!

Fiio, I chose X7 in order to experience DSD formats, and for 4 months of its owning I could not do it in the proper way in Fiio music app...  I mean, it is essential feature! I already asked few months ago about it, and it is STILL not supported! When can I expect that to be fixed? (if needed, I can upload files that aren't playing)

Hi, RuFrost
Thank you for your feedback.
1. Will the DAC interface appear in your X7 when in DAC mode? Your PC can recognize the X7 in storage mode, right? Please try to install the DAC driver again to see whether it helps. And could you please tell us the version of your win7? You can also try another USB ports to see whether it works.
2. Please make sure the decode of your DSD files is not DST first: http://fiio.net/en/story/266
If the files still can be played, could you please upload some to dropbox and send the link to us?

My concern is that hi res files will play but the output through Coax is down sampled. This was not the case with FW v2.0 nor through my original X5. Please confirm that this is an issue.

The problem is complex, so I will try to reveal the partial knowledge of it I have.
1) a) DAC interface appears on X7 in DAC mode. PC recognises x7 storages. I have reinstalled the drivers - result is the same. Windows Home Premium x64 (service pack 1).
b) I have tried different ports. I have 3 in total. Usually, I used it within the 3d one (it is the only one on the right of the laptop). 2 other (on the left) - after I connected to the 2 - nothing has happened, but when I unplugged x7 - the port just have stoped working. I connected it to the last one and miracle has happened - device manager has started to be displayed in the tray in the bottom of the left corner. It was saying new device is discovered, and drivers were searched for a while - after that it was installed successfully and was able to play everything as usual.
c) Now, when I connect it to the standard (3d port on the right) - X7 restarting when I enter DAC mode on it or starts to glitch hard in usual modes. Well...it started to work again correctly! I would say x7 starts to work in different USB port, but it is not always connecting.
2) relatively to DSD. The sample rate of X7 is at maximum 192000, while dsd file is much larger 5664800! I think it is the reason for inability to play dsd on laptop even with x7 plugged in.
I think even in when I use onkyo or any other player to play dsd - it converts it to pcm, therefore, so far, even though I own x7 for so long, I still cannot experience dsd after 4 months(((
