  Hi, JHutchins
Thank you for your kind feedback.
We tested and found that yes some sampling rates are down sampling. We are sorry for bringing that inconvenience. We will try to fix that in later firmware. But we failed to test the problem with the WMA96KHZ file you indicated. Could you please send us some WMA 96KHZ files? Thank you in advance.

I have sent you a Dropbox link to a WMA file as requested.
Please not that I have updated the firmware on my X7 to Beta v3.0.3. All previously reported issues remain unresolved:
- Search
- Track time display
- Track title scrolling not working correctly
- Down sampling issues remain
- Amazon Prime music will not stream
To reduce the user/owner frustration level could I suggest that you publish a complete list of reported bugs that you are currently aware of and working to resolve with some idea of which releases are expected to contain the solutions.

Some bugs found:

- The VU Meter is very lazy.

- The music stop playing, the player says that are playing, but no sound. It happens sometimes. Very frequent.

- The Search function is not working properly.

- All my music are on the SD Card, but they are playing on "TF" nomination when I go to the folders. The number os music are not correct. It says "0 song(s) in total" or another wrong value. The SD Card says "0 song(s) in total" too. All my music are on the SD Card.

- The Back Button don't return to the main player when you are on "Settings". Home Button don't have an practical use when you are on Pure Music mode.

- Sometimes I'm listening to an specific artist. When I change the Tab, for example to Settings, albums or another Tab, sometimes, when I return to the Artist tab it don't return the the correct part of the list that I was before. Don't return To the same artist that was selected on the previous selection.

- Problems with caracters on the name of a music, band. Some names have chinese caracters.

- Sometimes the music have some clicks.

- Data transfer is very very slow.

[edit: previous problem of impulse pop sound on AM2 seems to be fixed, but when X7 is connected via coaxial digital out to Chord Mojo, there is the impulse pop sound when switching tracks.]

2) relatively to DSD. The sample rate of X7 is at maximum 192000, while dsd file is much larger 5664800! I think it is the reason for inability to play dsd on laptop even with x7 plugged in.
I think even in when I use onkyo or any other player to play dsd - it converts it to pcm, therefore, so far, even though I own x7 for so long, I still cannot experience dsd after 4 months(((
links to 2 dsd files on dropbox:

I check your DSF file (https://www.dropbox.com/s/bcwwcerqx1py5bh/07%20-%20Signature.dsf?dl=0) and plays on FiiO X7 but no sound output, like one DSD album in my library (i have about 500 albums in DSD an all plays fine). I reported this to FiiO a lot of times and send files like you, but no answer.

Hello,

Deezer also does not work on latest build FW3.0.4 beta, music progress counter starts till sec 2, 3 but then goes back to 1sec, this keeps going till the end of the song (music can be heard)...after end of song the counter starts and there is no music to hear for the whole length of the song. After this new song starts and the whole sequence starts all over again. Streaming or offline does not differ.

Older beta's same.

Regards,
Norwin

Upgraded to FW3.0beta because of the intolerable Google Play annoyance on v2.0.  Generally all good and an improvement but WiFi reception is rubbish, anyone else finding this?  When about 3m from the router (BT HomeHub 5) it rarely connects and drops out almost immediately - this while Android phones and iPad are displaying full strength signal at greater distances  I can't see anyway on the stock interface that I can get under the hood of WiFi, see what channel it's using etc., has anyone successfully used any Android tools to do this?

Dear owstonferryman,

Could you please tell us the firmware version of your X7 now? Are there any barriers when collecting the Bluetooth? Did this happen in FW2.0 as well?

Best regards

Hi, not sure which is firmware so I'll quote both:
Kernel version is 3.0.101+
Build number is 3.0.6.161104_beta_b33
Bluetooth is similar to my other devices, WiFi is less good. I should say that for some reason the 2.4GHz band on my router is not performing well, link speed of 15Mbps from 2M away. 5GHz band is performing better but X7 is not picking that up, maybe chip is not capable?

After previous post I did get WiFi connectivity for long enough to pick up an OTA update and it downloaded in 2 hours after I moved the X7 very close to the router.

I can accept that my router is partly at fault, it clearly isn't achieving the range it once did but X7 wifi capability is less good than other devices near it. It's not particularly a problem for me as I didn't purchase it for streaming and I still think that this Android 5.1.1 version is much better than FW2.0.
