Hi 909:

Sorry for the lateness of my response, but I only just now saw the link to this tread at the bottom of one of your posts–I’m still not sure how I missed it. I will definitely try to make it to the Thousand Oaks meet that you have so kindly arranged for all of us head-fiers living in the So. Cal area. It will be wonderful to finally be able to see the Great All Powerful Wizard Of Zana

, Craig Uthus, as well as your own illustrious Moth/EddieCurrent Emerald City citizen the EC2A3.

Best Regards,
Nick

You can add me to the attendance list. I have a Eddie Current HD12, which is Craig's recent one of a kind modification of the HD25; it is still breaking in, but will plan on bringing it to the meet.

Hi NU62:

Given the Moth/EddieCurrent amp designation terminology, it sounds like your HD25 to HD12 modification has been done to maximize output impedances for low impedance headphones.

Best Regards,
Nick

You are exactly right - the HD12 started life as HD300 serial #14 for use with my Senn HD650s w/Equinox cable. I have recently acquired AKG 701s and Grado HF-1s (which will be fully modded by Larry at Headphile) and wanted the capability to drive these phones so I asked Craig to change the HD300 to a HD25. However, he went one step further and created the HD12, which he believes is a substantial improvement over the HD25. According to Craig the mods include "circuit topology like the Si2A3 with direct coupled driver to output tube." (direct quote from Craig in email to me) Also he upgraded the transformer from the HD25 design. Still looks just like an HD300, w/same tubes, but more dynamic, clearer and more detailed and big soundstage.

Is it possible to get an address or cross-streets for where this is going to be? It seems that I'm pretty close (Woodland Hills), but I'd like to be a little more certain. I don't have much to bring, but I'll show off whatever I can.

The main cross streets are Lindero Canyon Road and Thousand Oaks Blvd. I will pm everyone interested in attending with the specific address about a week before the meet.

By the way, I e-mailed Ray Samuels and Mikhail (Singlepower) and asked if they could attend or if they wanted to send something. I'll keep you posted.

Westlake villiage is close enough to me that I'd consider going.

Since I've switched to speakers, I can't bring any cans you guys would like. I just want to hear the new akg and sony cans.
