If we are to go by the instructions for Serenade then something like unzipping and pasting the files in the player's inbuilt storage(not in a sub folder but in the root) and going in the system setting should have the firmware update popup. But please do not take my word for it and try this. I'm still waiting on the instructions manual from Tempotec to be available just the way the instructions for serenade and other Tempotec devices are provided. There is a V6 firmware Zip file update on the TempoTec website. Thanks for that. I hope that TempoTec will have a wireless firmware auto update soon. Whether it will solve my 3.5mm problem I don't know. When it works the 3.5mm is way better than the usual DAP 3.5mm, in fact it is excellent, if it stays playing. As soon as I switch off and leave the unit laying around there is no sound from the 3.5mm when I try to play. If I shake unit there is nothing rattling or anything interfering with sound, if sound happens to be playing. If we are to go by the instructions for Serenade then something like unzipping and pasting the files in the player's inbuilt storage(not in a sub folder but in the root) and going in the system setting should have the firmware update popup. I'm sorry to hear that you are facing the issues with your DAP. Mine works without any problems albeit the occasional cuts while playing music(both in bal and se) and I think that is more of a software issue and updates should fix that. Please get your unit checked with TempoTec. And from what I heard, they build quality gear and their qc is very good too. Hope this gets resolved for you so that you can go on enjoying the dap the way you want to.Thanks for that. I hope that TempoTec will have a wireless firmware auto update soon. Thanks. Yep it is big and heavy, but barring any QC problems it's a heavy duty piece of kit.....and it sounds exceptional.1. Copy the firmware zip file onto your V6--I copied it into a "V6sync" folder onto the SD, but I don't think the location matters.
2. In Settings / System, select "Wireless Update", then in the 3-dot top-right menu, select the "Local updates" option. Navigate to your firmware file location (in my case: "SD card / V6sync") and select the fw zip file. You should see a screen with a list of warnings and an "INSTALL NOW" button at the bottom.
3. Select "INSTALL NOW"... more warnings... then V6 is going to reboot and show an "installing system update" progress bar.
4. After ~3-4 minutes, V6 reboots one more time, with a "finishing Android updates" (brief) message, and voila !!!
In the System/About Device, the Build number should have changed from 1.01G to 1.02G. I did rebuild the database just in case, but it was working fine anyway. As for differences between 1.01G and 1.02G... I am not sure.... I had zero problems with my V6, so it's not that I was not trying to solve anything!
Perfectly happy with the V6 though it is a little too bulky for my taste.![]()
Thank you. The update won't start if you have less then 30% battery remaining. I'll need to wait a few1. Copy the firmware zip file onto your V6--I copied it into a "V6sync" folder onto the SD, but I don't think the location matters.

Hopefully that sorts out the problem permanently.I think I've possibly figured my problem with the V6. Looking at the top bar of the screen after using the 4.4mm balanced, when I was trying the 3.5mm, it was still showing BAL on the top bar. So it wasn't clearing from the balanced port. The V6 was sticking in balanced mode. I'm listening to the 3.5mm right now, hoping it will stay in 3.5mm mode. The sound quality of the V6 in 3.5mm is exceptional. Way above it's price point. I'm not sure if my problem is solved, or manageable. Not sure about the V6 QC. It is built like a tank, a brick outhouse, but not sure about the QC quality of the Ports. Strangely I am listening using the Blon-01, with the Kinera Celest Gumiho 3.5mm cable. Usually I use the IMR Dark Matter or the Sony XBA N3, but bravo the Blon-01. Such a cheap combination....but it sounds fantastic. Sound wise the V6 is exceptional.
Did the local file update. It didn't like it from the SD card so I put the zip file onto the V6 itself in the storage folder and it did it without a hitch. Having the three gain modes is very useful. Middle gain is as loud as high gain previously. My problem with the V6 getting stuck in balanced mode is not completely ameliorated, I have to make sure I exit the music playing app such as the HiBy app or Amazon HD and clear them from the Notification Bar and take the BAL cable out. Sometimes it takes a good few seconds to disconnect from balanced mode, sometimes it is stuck in balanced mode. It does eventually disconnect, but although I can manage the process....it is a pain in the ass. I'll explain all this to TempoTec., but really don't fancy doing a few month return. Any suggestions in a method of cleaning the ports on the V6?1. Copy the firmware zip file onto your V6--I copied it into a "V6sync" folder onto the SD, but I don't think the location matters.

You could try carefully with that air pressure thingy from the car cleaning park. But I'd guess from your description that the connects are not correctly soldered so you could break the soldering even more.Any suggestions in a method of cleaning the ports on the V6?
