gear all bottom feeder DIY,broke,IQ of upper 180s when I was young but too much substance abuse (also in my youth) nipped that in the bud quick and I think somewhere above "produce" on the list is about right plus my hearing is fading fast due to age and even more abuse (explosions,loud concerts...)

I can't bear to listen to recordings. The layers of analog to digital and digital to analog conversions and EQ are all over the place and make it unbearable. I've quit recorded audio for this and only listen to the highest quality unamplified live performances.

I just stick a toslink optical cable in my right ear. The left ear takes coaxial.

Listening to both at the same time is an interesting experience (read: no need for hallucinogenic substances.)
