Couldn't find an existing thread for these, unless my search skills are lacking....sorry!
Just picked a pair up and chewed through approx 10 hours of testing so far.
For the money, I'm impressed! Right off the bat, the sound signature is clean and full bodied, not too dissimilar to B&O's signature actually, with no nasties at either end of the frequency range. No bass bloat and no fatiguing mids or highs. A very easy going and pleasant listen indeed
Anyone who remembers Technics from the 80s/90s will know the score. I had a number of their separates back in the day, including their iconic SL1210 turntable.....so welcome back to the fold Technics
Bass heads may find the low end extension initially a touch light, but simply put, if the bass is there, they reproduce it. There is zero artificial EQ going on here, which is great imo. It's accurate.....put it that way. I hate earphones that over emphasise the bass (Yes you, Sony WF-1000) as it muddies the detail too much for my liking.
They're obviously not quite up to par with the very best, but then again, they are only £239/$250.
Connectivity is quick and smooth sailing (on an iPhone 10 at least) and the 'Technics Audio Connect' app is easy breezy and intuitive.
Daily comfort is spot on. They're light weight and barely noticed in my ears. They're not marketed or sold as a fitness earphone, so don't expect them to stay put with vigorous exercise, but normal day to day movements pose no problems.
I haven't tested the call quality or Alexa/Siri stuff as I'm not interested in that nonsense, but the ANC is on point. Perhaps a shade under Bose/Sony but come on, the difference is so tiny these days, it's not worth mentioning.
I'm not a die hard ear/head phone mega master ninja, but for comparison I do also own B&O E8, B&O wired earphones, B&O H4, B&O H9 latest model, Bose QC and some Denon earphones.
I love my H9s and the best compliment I can give to the Technics is I can switch from the H9s to the Technics for outdoor duties and I do not feel like I am missing anything.
Can't really fault them at all for the money.
