Couldn't find an existing thread for these, unless my search skills are lacking....sorry!

Just picked a pair up and chewed through approx 10 hours of testing so far.

For the money, I'm impressed! Right off the bat, the sound signature is clean and full bodied, not too dissimilar to B&O's signature actually, with no nasties at either end of the frequency range. No bass bloat and no fatiguing mids or highs. A very easy going and pleasant listen indeed :relaxed:

Anyone who remembers Technics from the 80s/90s will know the score. I had a number of their separates back in the day, including their iconic SL1210 turntable.....so welcome back to the fold Technics :raised_hand:

Bass heads may find the low end extension initially a touch light, but simply put, if the bass is there, they reproduce it. There is zero artificial EQ going on here, which is great imo. It's accurate.....put it that way. I hate earphones that over emphasise the bass (Yes you, Sony WF-1000) as it muddies the detail too much for my liking.

They're obviously not quite up to par with the very best, but then again, they are only £239/$250.

Connectivity is quick and smooth sailing (on an iPhone 10 at least) and the 'Technics Audio Connect' app is easy breezy and intuitive.

Daily comfort is spot on. They're light weight and barely noticed in my ears. They're not marketed or sold as a fitness earphone, so don't expect them to stay put with vigorous exercise, but normal day to day movements pose no problems.

I haven't tested the call quality or Alexa/Siri stuff as I'm not interested in that nonsense, but the ANC is on point. Perhaps a shade under Bose/Sony but come on, the difference is so tiny these days, it's not worth mentioning.

I'm not a die hard ear/head phone mega master ninja, but for comparison I do also own B&O E8, B&O wired earphones, B&O H4, B&O H9 latest model, Bose QC and some Denon earphones.

I love my H9s and the best compliment I can give to the Technics is I can switch from the H9s to the Technics for outdoor duties and I do not feel like I am missing anything.

Can't really fault them at all for the money.

Good:

Sound sig: true balance.
There is no peak nor dips. Just a VERY shallow valey @300Hz to be perfect.
Btw, 5band embeded eq which has a band of 310Hz, so easy for whom need it.
Transparent and detail.
Dynamic and fast drive.
Huge stage. Good layering.
Battery last 6h at high volume.

Not good:

Transparent mode, compare to B&o E8 v3 : 6/10
Fat body and heavy (7gr vs 5.6gr of E8).
ANC and Transparent pick up wind noise
Sound sig change when turn off anc or trans (to be less bass diection).

So so:
Touch UI logic, designing, connection.
Technics should copy touch ui from B&O.
For example, Trans mode in E8 will automatic stop music stream to let you hear the ambient while AZ70W still keep music sounding at its volume. You can not hear what you need

For:
Music lovers.

Not for:
Sport lovers.

I am on the fence to buy these for my iPhone SE 2020. I am trying to find an excuse not to buy them actually. It would be for commuting and at the office...
@TYATYA and @fonefan : still happy with these today? Thanks

For using in office? No! It is not so good for in office use.
Reason: Can not fast swiching to hearing mode.
Touching gessture is OFF-> Transparent->ANC->OFF
OFF means none of the modes are active.
Even when Trans mode toggled, it does not stop playing music stream. You have to manualy stop your music (by another touch).
So crazy!

Look for B&O E8v3 if priority using in office. E8v3 has one of the best Transparent mode in both hear-thru quality and the way you interact: one touch when you start hearing office environment(music then auto pause) and touch again when you back to music. Transparent mode of E8v3 makes me sometimes confused I was heaing through a tws or direct hearing.
If give that 10 score then az70w just got 7!

I really do not need fat body of Az70w, its fitting, weight, ANC, but the sound quality.
I just want E8v3 to sounds as like az70w.
Btw i own both.
