Hi,

I'v been trying to find some replacement cables for the takstar HD 5500 but haven't been able to find anything that would work/fit the headphone. The cables for the headphone look like this

I contacted takstar to see if they could suggest something but they didn't know of any cables which would with these phones. But they were good enough to make this mock-up when i asked them whether the v-moda audio cables will work with these headphones (which apparently wont)

I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Would this cable work?

All the cables i've been able to find are either of cheap quality (futureshop and bestbuy) or their connectors are too big (i'm in canada by the way).

EDIT:

I would buy the cable you mentioned in your post but that costs 50$ with shipping to canada. I'm looking for something within 20-25$ with shipping.

I got my cable from Winners for $7.99.

I don't think that would work (Hosa cables are designed for connecting up studio components and probably have full-sized cable ends)... suggest that you buy in-person from a brick-and-mortar. Long & McQuade (Canadian musical instrument chain) probably have the Hosa cables and you actually check if they fit or not.

I guess i'll have to check those places out. Thanks a lot for your suggestions so far. After searching the forum for a while i was able to find this cable

By the looks of it, this should work with the headphones. The ends seem slim enough in that picture.

That would work, so would this Startech cable from Amazon

That just looks like a standard stereo 3.5mm cable. The cables you tried, did they have 3 black rings or just 2?

The one on the left might not work but the one on the right is the cable you need.

So the startech cable arrived today and it works perfectly with these headphones. My only gripe is that the quality of the cable doesn't seem as good as the default takstar cable (mainly referring to build quality) but i guess i shouldn't expect much for 3$.

Anyway, thanks for the awesome suggestion pandemicSK.
