 My dear h200.

I used long time se535 ltd. and um3x after these i' am very surprised.
H200 is amazing. Clearity and fun togeather, to be honest i don't believe this is possible for an iem.

Now i' ll buy a dap, probably it will be fiio x3, maybe dx50 better but i am almost a basshead.

How do you feel they compare to the UM3X?

Actually maybe some people could think um3x present more fun. But um3x has also a dark background imo.
H200 has amazing detail and clarity at least after um3x, i can define ""crystal clear" in mids and highs.
Highmid freq. is a little excessive.

One thing, which the um3x is better than h200, is a little soundstage, wide way. But just a little.
H200 is definitely better iem, than um3x and se535 ltd.. IMO of course.

Congrats! Here's a post by Gintaras relating to the H200 and the dx50:

Assuming you are referring to the H200, there is a peak that I find to be very tip dependant. I use the MH1C large tips, and the peak seems to be all but gone.

Thanks man.
I read now and i am sure, my estimates are true about h200+dx50. Probably i' ll choice x3...

And yes, i try different tips on my h200 already, i' am working about that.
With right tips, h200 could be better. Anyway already best my iem history.

Axi, do not get me wrong, DX50 is a very good DAP so i would keep it on your audition list. my opinion is subjective and you may hear things differently. i also still have to try amping which might help H200. also i used FW 1.2.5 while some people find 1.2.2 version sound better, problem is i am afraid to mess up with rolling back FW update since some people complain about FW problems after messing up with FW.

what i admire in DX50 is stunning clarity, far better than C3, however C3 wins in smoother and more natural presentation and magical refined mids. but beware, if you choose C3 then amping will be the way to go.

cannot tell much about Fiio x3 but heard users happily upgrading to DX50 sound :)

Currently listening with my H200 > JDSlabs C5 > StonerAcoustics UD110 > iMac 2011.
Very nice...

H200 is also a mess in the upper mids, actually it sounds hollow in comparison to the QB2. You can also add dampers to the QB2 and it sounds smoother, though I don't it's needed IMO.

I have always acknowledged that there is a flaw in the H200's upper mids but to my ears it's not as audible as the QB2.

Beg to differ, the QB2's can be fixed with proper insertion, tips or extra dampening and it's small, the H200 is way too smoothed out in the midhighs.

Believe me when I say I have tried... and failed. I'm the type of guy who doesn't give up easily on flaws. My IEMs have gone through mods and tip rolls, various insertion depths, etc...
If you've read my review carefully, I wrote that QB2 flaw is not noticeable always. In fact, I even provided suggestions on the best artists/songs with the QB2. Unfortunately, I listen heaps of rock and metal... the QB2 just doesn't cut it. I didn't even highlight that in my review because not all people listen to those genres and I believe in positive reinforcement.

I don't think there's anyone else that has the upper mid complaints, we mostly agree the flaw of the QB2 is in it's midbass....That is why I think it's a depth/tip issue, who knows, it is what it is, no need to take it further.

I think DX50 / H200 was decent, still with the firmware I was on felt I needed to force detail out by using excessive volume, it didn't seem to have the ultimate synergy. C3/BH sounded smoother and a came across more effortless. But in saying that with my RDB Mini and original 1plus2 they leave H200 behind by a decent amount so my expectations are also rather high now.

My H200 are up for sale, priority goes to a member who has them on loan atm.
