So an update. I emailed T+A to figure out availability in the U.S. T+A responded and said that the headphones should be arriving here in the next few weeks!

In addition they mentioned: "House of Stereo will have a pair of Solitaire P and the new HA200 headphone amp in about two weeks. "

Recently, I had the chance to audition Nomax' Solitaire P for a few hours and to compare it with other headphones such as Focal Utopia and Clear, Diana Phi and HD800S. The Solitaire P is a dark sounding headphone, it clearly lacks treble energy, imo. Therefore, it colours the sound and is not a HiFi headphone in a literal sense. Lacking treble energy leads also to some spatial information being lost, when compared to other headphones. A soundstage of at best mediocre size for this planar magnetic headphone is the result. Instrument separation is quite good though. Bass quality is not bad, but it seems to lack a bit of speed because of lacking transients. Upper mids are slightly subdued imo, but what is much more obvious is the absence of enough treble energy over a quite wide frequence range.

Overall, I prefer every other headphone mentioned above over the Solitaire P, the much cheaper Focal Clear included.

I really don't find it lacking treble energy although the Utopia is definitely a brighter headphone. But you didn't say what amp you were using to do the test.

SP1000 with amp, SP2000 and Questyle CMA Twelve Master. I am sure that a different amp will not bring out the 4-5 db in the treble that I am missing.

I auditioned the Solitair hp with the HA200 amp for exactly three songs. So I cannot say much, but the bass amount and quality was very good IMHO, and I did not feel the combo was missing out in the treble region.

The reviewer auditioned the Solitaire combo, but also just the headphone with a whole bunch of amps, including the Questyle CMA twelve master, Bakoon 11, Riviera 10 plus he compares the T&A Solitaire P against the Susvara and Abyss 1266.

From the standpoint of the overall tonality from all the planars(not dynamics) that i know to my ears....is the susvara...he makes the best job

And: "If you boost the treble using equalization, it sounds more convincing." So it seems that my ears are still ok.

In the interest of fairness, it should also be mentioned that not only the measurements but also the reviewer himself made clear that treble was lacking. So it is not a matter of how much treble is missing exactly, but it is a fact for the reviewer and for me that treble is subdued. I am sure that we will see this also in other future measurements.
