Is there a thread dedicated for the Lethals yet? I got them back when you told everyone. Gave them to a guy I mustered up an conversation with on the subway. They were decent.

The metal ones look nifty. $10 isn't breaking the bank. Housing looks smooth like a baby's bottom. I'm not a fan of babies but I plead guilty on enjoying the latter.

You mean you gifted those Lethals to the fellow subway rider?  Lucky person.  I hope you ran them in a bit and tried some different genre tracks. Because Sf failed to mention it but they need about 20,000 hours break in time before they open up.
Actually I only did that for ~15 hours on them after first listen.

You mean these metal EB-750 look smooth?  inline79 was it the glossy polished aluminum or the anodized blackish colour they had on sale there at XSAwesome?

He was a nice guy. Got his number. Had some Phiatons which dragged my attention.

Was listening to them constantly the week before that though - essentially they were my daily commuting pairs. Unlike what the cardboard freak would want us to think, no one other than him has 20,000 hours worth of spare time waiting for something to happen.

Would I buy them again? I think I'll give something else a fair chance.

Looks smooth like a baby's bottom. That part's important.

Phaiton IEM or on ears? I saw Headphonebar had the IEMs but not the specific ones I was lookiing into  few weeks back.

Yeah, he really needs to find a job or something. Playing B-ball and growing cabbage does not exactly rake in a lot of money, mind you.

BTW - anyone try the BA100 yet? I know there's a lot of reviews out there saying they aren't worth it, but the prices for pretty much all the TDKs have dropped nicely since I last saw. Heck even the IE800 is $99. For $79 that's around the ADDIEM retail level...hmmm....They sound boring and flat, just like me. I think we'd be a good match.

The IP series - are they just rehashed mic-versions of something else, or are they their own animal?

The SP series - not a lot heard about them, anyone managed to get one?

The EC series - someone mentioned them earlier...hmm...

The MS400. There's also a MS500 out, not a lot of talk about that.

Maybe he could do a value added scheme with the cabbage like create Artisan Saurkraut or dried spicy cabbage chips and compete against those overpriced Kale chips that are all the rage now.. I'd be a great test subject.

Ask Kalbee about the decent TDK Clef series he heard overseas there. Tuned differently for the three models.. Not seen those here yet they aren't the same as the clef tuned series available online here,  screwed up model naming is the only common thing there.

Interesting how the BA200 are warmer than the Dynamic IE800's so i hear.
Wonder why we have only seen the two TDK models so far you'd think there would have been plenty of the other models where XSCargo are getting these ones

You can't possibly expect him to do meticulous crafts requiring hand-eye coordination. I mean, look at him. For goodness sakes he has a cardboard box on his head.

I don't hear it that way at all. The IE800s I hear as having a bit more upper mids-lower treble, but it's still pretty darned warm.

I think the SPs look to be aiming for something even lower-costed. Just a matter of time until XCrapcargo pumps them out. I mean, just look - the original MT300 thread pretty much managed to bump the MT300 and its brethren into Amazon through sheer force of hype.

Thanks for the impression on the 200's, even though I see you originally mentioned the 100 and i screwed up.  good info regardless..

Sp series need to look.
Dreaming of the day I walk in there and see the ST-800 sitting there looking good for cheap :)

( DAISUCK & PROSITUTE is excellent. trying to place what it reminds me of, Older punkish crossed with Snakefinger type maybe also a bit of The Fall in there )

Screwed the pooch again (poor pooch), I was talking about the 800s :P

Maybe if we repeat the words ST-800 on the internet enough the Xcargo secret spy drone trackers will index the keywords and throw Canadiana a bone. ST-800 ST-800 ST-800 ST-800 ST-800 ST-800 ST-800 ST-800 ST-800

One of the riffs on their album reminds me of Automat. I do not know why. Wait up a second, I have another big dump coming up, straight up dumps though, no write-ups.

It was the silver EB750s btw.
When in the US at TJ Maxx I once saw the TDK ST700 - I held it and walked around the store like a kid with the latest Elmo, but in the end decided to hold out for the 800 some day. $40 for the ST700 was definitely tempting! You might see it at Winners soon... don't be tempted I don't think.

I seem to have missed the Lethal boat...

Oh and if anyone cares, I went next door to XSCargo, to Staples, where there were Ecko Unltd headphones on clearance, as well as some Disney ones... yeah.

Glad it's not just me that's curious on the ST-800. I was hesitant to mention it but seems like there's a few of us lurking for that one. Will advise as soon as spotted cheap, as well as any further stock in store on the Lethals..

Yep, tried the BA100.
They're like a muddied less extending little brother to the BA200, with a noticeable dip somewhere in the upper mids.
They also fit completely differently---not deep insertion but not as comfortable.
In other words... a whole different beast haha. I did not like them that much, they lacked even more clarity than the BA200.

From the TDK IEM lineup, the notable ones I tried are:
CLEF-X (TH-EC300) of which I don't remember much except it didn't impress me.
TH-EC250 (the one in the link is probably the same thing--but with SHINY/GLOW IN THE DARK? cables and shell. At least shape and all is the same) which I own--got for free at the Fes.
CLEF-P Vocal Tuning TH-PVEC300 (I did try the other tuning versions too but did not like any) P.S. the older ones don't have the curved strain relief and model name is one or two letter shorter.
CLEF-BA TH-ECBA700 (BA--typical BA type of bright and detailed sound but lacked warmth and bass)
CLEF-MA TH-ECMA600 (Magnetic Armature?! -- these were warm but lack high freq)
TH-ECBA100 (when the BA200 was sold out, these were definitely not cutting it close for me to buy as consolation prize)
IE800 (amazing little thing in it's own ways)
CLEF-Fit2 TH-EC100 (sound? meh, LOOK AT THOSE TIPS!)

I don't see the IP nor the SP on the Japanese site so I'll randomly assume I didn't try them.
I actually might have, but none of them caught my attention as much as the IE800 and BA200.
The amalgam of the BA700 & MA600 would have been nice though. They are essentially polar opposites. One has great bass and mids, the other has great upper mids and treble.

Well I did say the Vocal tuning was like a bassier little bro to the BA200 but when I revisited it, my opinion changed. Either the stuff got damaged by the loads of people trying random IEMs out, or I just got a overall better impression the second time. I forgot what it was, but there was something in the upper mids or treble.
The Live Tuning version was somewhat reminiscent of the MT-300 to give you a general idea of the sound flavor.

Yeah, interesting indeed... in fact the BA200 can use more clarity/detail. If the IE800 weren't already so big I'd say throw the two of them together with the odd combination of dual dynamics providing the trebles.

Ah, regarding those Lethals... I changed the tips and seems Monster gel tips work great on them. I can kinda see where you're getting at, although for the genres of sissy pop (as twinky would say) I listen to it doesn't pair all that well haha. Needs a bit more treble!

Dear god why did he call Calpis. The horror.

I was trying to be optimistic about them...why'd ya have to break it to me that hard :(

GLOW IN THE DARK? They gave them away at the festival?

If it's a real dipole armature I'd be extremely impressed. Did not know there were other manufacturers for that around.

Good work - you've done good for the Canadian TDK Archival Association. Still no free membership though. That requires monthly donations. Preferably in IEM form.

I take that back - you've only answered 1 out of 3 of the model series I was interested in? Work harder darn it! Mad disappointed.

I think you mean add more treble...all of those foreign esoteric genre listeners only want more treble. It's a pretty open secret.

I don't think they use crossovers - they have a mechanical one instead. I guess you could crank open the back of one pair and make a tootsie-roll-mutant quad-dynamic. With the ergonomics of 1000 bastardized TF10s.

Damn right sissy pop. Crank up some real music you hear.

And it seems like I was totally right about you treble fiends.
