Aww man, sorry about this. The psychological effect of dealing with something like this is how I imagine something like losing a limb or an eye. It's easy to take things for granted until it's no longer there. You'll adapt in the meantime, so keep your head up!

Another potential option for those who might suffer from moderate-to-severe hearing loss is a fully implantable hearing device. Unlike hearing aids and cochlear implants, these fully implantable middle-ear devices are completely hidden and require no external components hanging around your head.
