Hi all

I have created a tool for OSX that copies my music and playlists to one or two cards in my FiiO X5 DAP. It occurred to me in writing this tool that several DAPs may benefit from this and I would like to try and support them too, with your help.

Once set up, when you plug your DAP (or cards) in, it copies the latest updates to the cards including playlists correctly formatted to reference music across cards and then ejects the drives/dap. Couldn't be easier.

The tool is available to check out here on my site, including a walkthrough videos etc.

Well, I'm stuck. I made a playlist named Dapper with all my music in it. Then I made a playlist called Dapper EssentialsX5.

Dapper scans the X5 then announces it can find no playlists named Dapper although there is. Here's a screen shot of the error and a snip from the log that seems relevant.

I deleted the one named Dapper thinking it was confused. I got the error both ways.

If anything, it would be great if someone wrote an app that has MTU file management support that can sync iTunes playlists properly without huge amounts of stress.

Aug 18, 2014 at 7:40 AM Post #5 of 31
Can you post that to my help site: support.map-pin.com - I will check this out for you.

You do need a "Dapper Music" one that determines what songs to copy.
Then you can optionally have others named Dapper something that get written as actual playlists.

If you were in "test mode" then this is a bug (it lets you know it didn't copy, because it doesn't in test mode) - this has been fixed and you can update the app to get a fix. :)

This is what I'm not clear about. Do I need to make 2 playlists, one called Dapper Music which holds all the music and a second one called Dapper EssentialsX5 to control what is actually copied to the DAP? And yes I'm doing everything in test mode to see what will happen.

Hi all,

I have added a ton of features, and whacked a ton of bugs in the last 3 months.
Dapper natively supports the FiiO X5 today and by the end of the week I will also add 4 more DAPs to the list.
Dapper supports the Astell and Kern AK100II via SyncMate today.

As a result, we're ready to launch and version 2.06 of Dapper will hopefully hit the Apple OSX App store in November:

I've got the ak100... I hope i don't need sync mate, because i installed it and it doesn't see the dap. I purchased a license for your software, but haven't received the key, but I don't think that has any impact. your program sees and connects to my device but nothing happens.

I've got syncmate... Not sure how to set this up best to work with your program. Help is appreciated.

some more details.

when i plug my device in, the storage shows on the desktop (see the screens shown above). It's done this since before installing your software or syncmate.

I wathced http://www.map-pin.com/dapper/connecting-an-astell-and.html , but syncmate doesn't recognize the AK100 as an MTP device.

And I tried this with very small playlists, adding dapper in front.

I think this may be the subtle difference between an AK100 and an AK100II :)

If you have the AK100 and the drives show up when you plug it in, you do NOT need SyncMate and you can return that.

Please open a ticket at support.map-pin.com and we'll hook you up!
