Yes.

They probably won't care when they get back. Either they'll think you threw them out, or they'll figure you ate them before they expired.

Either way... they're eggs. If the "owners" complain, they've got some serious social issues to work out on their own before ever again deciding to live with other people.

Yeah, I guess, in principle... but again... they're eggs.

We have a communal food supply where I live. The basics are supplied in the rent, and if you want special stuff, you buy it yourself and put your initials on it. I rarely have to do this.

Much easier, and much cheaper this way!

How many eggs did you steal?

Buy new eggs and make sure they expire before the "owner" returns!

And if you can't stand the smell, I think you have the right to place them in their room.

Cool. But they have the right to complain if their eggs are missing.

I know I'd bring hell if someone stole my food.

If they complain:

1) Explain what happened. (I would agree with what you've done)
2) Buy them some eggs. (things will be even)

You probably don't have the right.
But instead of throwing them away two days down the road I don't see much wrong in you eating them now. ..and if they ask they probably would agree.

I stole 10 eggs or something, I eat on average 4 eggs/day.

Is that healthy?
