Stax SRM-323 S vs Stax SRM-1/MK-2 Pro

Yes it is superiour, and here because of two reasons. First the voltage swing is higher on the older model and second they used better parts back in the day. Especially the not so commom C Series and the one with 2 pro sockets are excellent.

I would not use that article to determine anything other than the srm-1/mk2 is a one of the really good stax amps out there. The article does not state that it is better than the s-model of the 323, it has only been compared to the earlier 323... presumably, and if you consider voltage swing to be very important, then the 323s actually offers 30 volts more than the srm-1/mk2 (400volts vs 370volts). Also the article does not say anything about how the srm-1/mk2 sounds with the latest lambda lineup.
